The Sirio Challenge Database

Poker Tournament Tracker

I wanted to start a new thread to get some feedback on the MySQL database I posted in the Sirio tracking thread. There have already been a number of people registering.

Some changes that I'll make but have not had time to yet, and will not til this evening:

1. Will add restrictions so people can't put incorrect data into some parts of the database, that would screw up totals and averages.
2. Will add some instructions on the bottom.
3. Will seperate Buyin and Rake for a tournament
4. Will add a tournament date
5. Will add Hours Played
6. Will add more sites (Please put the ones I need to add in this thread)
7. Will see if I can figure out some sort of ROI type calc.

Any other additions and subtractions? I do not think I will do anything to differentiate between regular and satellites, as that just gets too complicated for now. Regarding rebuys, I think just note that its a rebuys.

Oh, and do we want a "bustout hand" text box for a description of the bustout, or a link box where you would put a link so people could link to say pokerhand.com for where you could post your bustout hand (My favorite option), or have both?

Thoughts and opinions please.

Nick

Please add Eurobet as a choice.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

I don't like a bustout hand box. I'd have to write, "so I called with 22 on a QJT97 board because I put him squarely on A5." too often.

Seriously though, it detracts from the mathematical sexiness of the page.

I'll play along but i dont play that many MTT's atm. Are we supposed to register only ITM finishes?

also, maybe add a link for the HH if they want to put it up.

I hope not, I think it would really defeat the purpose of it.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

The bustout box is ok, you can just write AA-59 in 7KJ; or AA-KK BF. I would like to see it.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

One other quick thing. Please feel free to put tourneys in there, but I'll wipe it clean for the start of the challenge. As for using it long term, I most likely will, and others are free to as well. Who knows where development of it will go.

If you are in the challenge you are supposed to register ALL your results.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

Hi Chief:

Other sites: Bodog, Pacific, and maybe an "other" option

I don't like the tournament ID field, in some sites is a PITA to know this number, I think the date and hour (EST) would suffice.

Instead of tournament name, Game; and then the options NLH, LH, 7CS, 7SH/L, OMA, OH/L and other

% of finish should be calculated automaticlly and not a required field

$Won should be prize, or at least be clear enough so nobody makes a mistake deducting the entry fee from the prize

We need to do something to not allow fake posters messing with the database, I think for this challenge, there should be a time window to register as a user with the ability to input records (maybe tomorrow morning), if somebody forgot to do it, then he should send you a PM. And of course, you can always view the database as a guest. It would be nice to have the list of the registered users by the start of the challenge.

By the way, Is there enough space in the database to register all the tournaments played by Colson?

Terrific job Chief !! I think this put you ahead in the mod of the year award race

I agree with this. I like where this thing is going, but to be honest, i prefer to keep the categories of stats very simple. This is partially due to me playing a ton at a time.

This is great chief. I just registered.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

Ok. Making some changes now. I agree with Sirio that we need to (Atleast during this week) restrict registration to those that are going to take part in the challenge. So, since its Sirio's challenge, he'll figure out a time when the registration is cut off. After that I can add you manually so you can put in tourneys.

I'll make some changes, and delete the existing tourneys, so we have a fresh slate for midnight tonight.

So no one likes the opion of having a poker hand link box?

great job chief...

When we enter the amount won , do you want it minus the but-in and Rake?

Also does this start a midnight tonight or what time on the 13th?

two questions

1. Are we going to be including B&M tourneys?
2. How will satellites be handled?

I assume (hopefully) that that is due to some revamping Chief is doing to his DB.

Re: login problem

I would like there to be a "Live" tourney category. Also, I assume % refers to the percentile finish of our numeric bust out number? (i.e. If we bust out 100th of 400, we are in the 25th percentile) As for Sats, I say include them - For amount won, type in the prize package (i.e. $215 if it is entry to the Stars 500K) and for percentile, assume you finished in the middle of the pack - that is, if top 10% qualify, enter in 5% as your percentile, no matter what. Just ideas.

So are we only counting ones that start on 00:00 8/13? Or ones that were played during that time. I'm wondering if I can post my #2 finish in the empire 10k which ended at 02:15 on 8/13

Any "official" way to join the challenge? I already regged on the site, i'm assuming thats all, but just wana make sure.

I've got 1 tourney to add already. Once I figure out what place i'm out in i'll update it. Ugh, I'm due for some ITM action!

Yes just reg. and fill in you results..

two tonight and no itm , I suck

I did win a 5.5 three table while playing the Omaha H/L though, but I guess that don't count.

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

Woohoo. Do I get a prize for christening the database with the first ITM finish? $35 baby! Saw a couple of other challenge participants were in that one too (03:15 10+1 on PS).

Exitonly 08-13-2005 06:46 AM

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

We should standardize a time format for this, the way it is now, with people putting the time in different formats makes it hard to sort by time.

also, any way to make the sort for percentages sort them in size rather than by just having a '1' in front. (same goes for buyin)

Exitonly 08-13-2005 12:09 PM

Re: The Sirio Challenge Database

Also we should standardize the %... some people are putting ".71" and some are "71" not a big deal.. but something that might aswell be fixed.

sirio11 08-13-2005 01:06 PM

Standard format

Exitonly is right, we need the same format.

Please in %finish, write the number multiply by 100

Example, finish 30 out of 60 then write (30/60)*100 = 50 (not .50)

Or finish 5 out of 320 then write (5/320)*100 = 1.25 (and not 0.0125)

For the time, write in a 24 hrs format, if the tournament was at 7:30PM write 19:30; 8:50AM write 08:50

Also, don't know what to do about tournaments with FPP buy ins , since this would mess with the average, Is this right Chief?

It would be nice to have a total in the Prize column.

THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!!

Also, we need to input a monetary value for FPPs. I suggest 100FPPs = $1. If we can get people to edit their own to conform to the standard, that would be great.

Pokerroom

How are we doing the buy in/rake for Paradise? Their tournaments are always a round number, such as $30, which they then take 9% from. I'm assuming we'll just do the math, but will numbers with decimals be okay?

I just logged my first entry. Party 100+9, I came in 251st out of 260, good for 96%.

To change the %finish, i.e. write 67 instead of .67 and 11 instead of 11%.

Did these. Also note that I play a lot of GBP 2+.25's. I have simply converted entry fees and prizes into dollars. Let me know if there's anything wrong with mine. I think they're fixed.

done.

i just did a $3 rebuy this morning. one rebuy, one addon. how do i put that in the rebuy column? 2? 6? ...?

Exitonly 08-13-2005 05:58 PM

Re: Standard format

Now we have to do the same thing for rebuys and addons.

i think the collumn is for the number of rebuys+addons, not the cost, and there should only be numbers in the collumn, so 2 instead of (1/1) and i dont know what 3+ means, but probably no plus.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong.
