Athletes nobody hates
 

Just watching the packers preseason game. I think this is a short list - big time athletes that everyone likes (or at least doesn't despise).

My short list:
Brett Favre
Tony Gwynn
Michael Jordan
Wayne Gretzky

I think MJ is the only iffy pick, but I'm no hockey expert. Any other candidates, past or present?

I don't hate Favre but I'm getting tired of everyone that gets on their knees for him.

I don't like Favre at all. Seems very fake and very prickish. He seems to be giving the cold shoulder to Rodgers instead of helping him out.

I'm not a Ripken fan. I'm not impressed with him riding the glory of a silly consecutive games played record. I don't hate him though.

its favre's job to keep his job and lead the team, not groom his replacement. I'm a bears fan, so no, I don't like Brett Favre at all, he has killed us way too many times over his career

you 'can', but why would you? really, the only reason to hate him, would be because of all the media ball washing him 24/7, but its not his fault.

he doesn't do scummy things, doesn't trash people via the media etc......

Vlad Guerrero is a very good one. Even in LA I can't really hate him.

Vlad is my favorite player right now, DUDE, I am still pissed the M's didn't make a serious play at him or Tejada. (btw, Tejada is my 2nd favorite player, right now).

Tejada is another good one. I don't know whether or not I should dislike him for leaving Oakland, but I can't really blame him. He's a really likable player.

This is coming from a few Ms fans I know. Shrug. Maybe they're different.

Griffey was always seen (at least to me) as just a big kid. He's hard to hate. Also, even if he didn't really leave Seattle in the greatest way, I remember him always saying he was going to Cincinatti for his family, and it's hard to argue with that.
