How Do I pay more rake??

I just signed up at betonbet to get [censored], the interesting thing is the way they do it. It is a sliding scale, based on a high watermark..... ie. If I reach a certain amount of rake paid I will get [censored] at that highest percentage level for the next 12 months.....

$1000-4000 =30%
$4,000-7000 = 35%
$7,000 + = 40%

What is my best chance of reaching 7k+ in one months time assuming I am willing to play 4 tables? Limit or Nl, full or short, limit up to 5-10 s/h, 10-20 full, NL 2/4 or 3/6 s/h, 5/10 full

Re: How Do I pay more rake??

You have to play short handed, because you don't get a share of the table rake paid, you get a share of your rake paid.

Ie, if the pot is heads up between sb and bb and ends up getting raked $2 then sb and bb each get $1 each in contributed rake. The other eight players get nothing.

If you think about it this is actually the most fair way of doing it, but it's not liked around here as it basically hurt TAGs rakeback.

If you can play a good shorthanded LAGgy NL game that's your best bet.

I thought about that, but $1,000 is a breeze, so I figured I have nothing to lose going for the 40%..... now I just need the best way to aproach it without becoming Odoyle

I'm not sure how different their rake structure is from party and friends, but it's easy to clear $10k+ GMR at 5/10 6max on party (assuming 4 tables, 30-40 hrs a week).

What happens if a player contributes money to the pot but doesn't go to showdown? Is the rake calculation pro-rated per person per street?

OK, I guess Ill go for shorthanded NL, as I play a lot more hands and win more pots in NL

Re: How Do I pay more rake??

Winning pots doesn't matter. If you put half the bets (HU)to get the rake to $3, for example, your MGR goes up by $1.5 wether or not you take down the pot. I recomend what ever game has you putting in the most money per pot with the least number of players coming along for the ride. I haven't played enough (any) NL to saw which one.

Re: How Do I pay more rake??

lol, yeah, I don't play that much (and don't consider that easy either)...but umm..someone I know does...I play 2tables of 3/6 6max and I'm lucky to get in 25 hrs a week.

Hey now! Watch it!

I hope my name doesn't become like Roy Munson from the move Kingpin and becomes a verb to indicate you just got screwed. (You got munsoned.)

You got O Doyled!

Re: How Do I pay more rake??

Don't worry, O'Doyle. We don't think you were screwed, unless you usually make $50 an hour and played 300 hours to get a $13,000 prize instead of winning $15,000. At any rate, you will be remembered as the guy that put in max hours to win a big prize (as MicroBob did, but with much less publicity - and apparantly a smaller noggin).

So, in the future, when somebody has to play a lot of hours and win enough to pay their bills at the end of the month, they will have to "pull and O'Doyle."
