Post your opinions on the newly added internet bonus forum. Who likes/dislikes?

ex: It's nice that it condenses bonus discussion to one form, but they forbid RB talk and talk about other, more lucrative internet promotions that are non-BW

It's a bonus forum, not a spam forum. Rakeback should not be discussed there, because it's always just a way to pump your own rb deal.

I guess it's good that we'll get some of the bonus talk out of the zoo, so it can concentrate on more important things like party being rigged and bots living among us.

In all honesty, I think the new forum will be helpful, but no experienced whores want to start posting there yet. It's great for poker bonuses, but bad for casino bonuses.

There are too many bonus forums. It breaks up the discussion. With so many people here aware of and used to checking the BW site, now we have to go to:
1)the Zoo
2)Internet Bonuses
3)Bonus Discussion (BW)
4)Bonus Questions (BW)
and that doesn't cover the additional casino bonus forums.

Too many forums, people will miss discussions, fail to answer questions, and duplicate the same information over and over.

Two was enough. No more please!

If that is so, then there is a big problem. People are being discouraged from discussing non-BW bonuses in that forum.

This new forum may be great for BW's business, but 2+2 is going to suffer.

No I think the idea was for bonuswhores.com to make more money. They want you to use their links as affiliates and only discuss their bonuses.

They are not the be all end all of good bonuses and I hope the zoo continues to be a great resource for this type of information.

Why not just give the new forum a chance to get off the ground?
Jek is pretty cool, he's not going to act like a Nazi. The new forum could be a useful place for many. Theres just no reason to try to sabotage it in it's infant stage.

Give it a chance. See how it goes. Theres no immediate downside.

Well, I don't intend to 'sabotage' the new forum, I just think it is a little misleading. It is a 3rd party commercial forum disguised as a public 2+2 forum. It also means there is no way 2+2 will get a true internet bonuses forum, so bonus information will be spread between 2 forums, and often buried in one of them.

Imagine if the first STT forum was sponsored by Ultimate Bet and you couldn't talk about STT's from any other site.

p.s. I think Jek / bonuswhores.com are great, I just think this new forum falls short of the potential that a true 'internet bonuses' forum could have.

Also, I have no problem with Jek at all, in fact he has helped me out in the past. That being said, this is not an attack on jek, but on the new forum. It wouldnt bother me at all if BW bought every ad on 2+2, but why ruin a perfectly good thing that we have in the zoo??

Due to the vast majority of bonuses, being based on standard poker, casino, and sportsbook offers, we are not materially limiting the bonus information, unlike your UB/sng forum example implies. If UB was the sng sponsor, you'd only be able to talk about 5-10% of sngs. In the IB forum, you're able to talk about 99% of all bonuses. I don't think that having to go somewhere else for that 1% is a high price to pay for getting all your other bonus information in one spot.

When I want to read a 2+2 forum, I go to the 2+2 website.

I second what others have said about keeping bonus info in the zoo and keeping the forum range of topics open to anything rather than BW-only. At a *minimum* there needs to be a clear indication *on the menu* that the bonus forum is not like the other forums - under its own section for "sponsored forums" maybe, rather than in the general gambling section.

Frankly, a very tacky move on BW's part, and a disappointing one on 2+2's part. One I will certainly remember when I choose whose link to click on next time I open a new account.

I prefer the new forum - as a newbie to this whole BW thing having it all in one place is better for me, as I don't have to wade through dozens of threads to find the ones I am interetsed in (given my lack of internet time)

I realize there is a sticky explaining the situation, I just still feel like the forum title is misleading, regardless of your intentions. To me, the forum title suggests "come in here, and talk about all the best internet bonuses!", when the real purpose is "come in here, and talk about all of the bonuses affiliated with bonuswhores.com!".

Well sure, my analogy isn't perfect, but surely you can understand my point behind it? Sorry, but Bonuswhores.com does not account for 99% of the bonuses in the world.

Having said all of that, I will still read the new forum, I just wanted to give my feedback on the whole thing.

I did not intend any of my replies as Jek-bashing. I have a lot of respect for Jek, and I have gotten much use out of his site and given him much of my business, and referred many of my friends to do the same. My reply isn't about Jek, it is more about 2+2. I guess we have come to think of 2+2 as a public forum and not the commercial entity that it is, and this new forum is just a reminder that that isn't the case.

The longest title on the left appears to be books/publications/software. Unless I miscounted, that's 24 characters. If someone can come up with a more descriptive title in that space, I will take it up with Chuck. I *want* BW's name on the left menu, and brought this up when we were discussing the forum. To this point, we've done the next best thing by explaining things in the sticky, and having the "full name" in the title of the sticky.

Basically, the standard bonuses offered by pokerrooms, casinos, and sportsbooks account for 99% of the bonuses. BW's few exclusive bonuses add to that. The ones that are off limits, account for that 1%.

it seems like some of the objections are based on the fact that this new forum has been placed in the center of the "real" forums.

if i were jek, i would rather have a left bar link that more resembles the merchandise icons. i think if this were moved to it's own area, and can even be made red and bigger, that may make both sides happy. this would eliminate the grey area of the forum looking non-commercial, yet pay jek off by moving his link to the top and make it bigger and bolder.

i dunno. just a thought

forgive my ignorance here.

on bonuswhores they pretty much talk about whatever bonuses they want...including those that give BW zero profit.
i am assuming we can pretty much talk about whatever bonuses we want in this new forum on 2+2 that is associated with BW.

what is this talk about the 1% of bonuses we aren't allowed to talk about? what 1% is this?
the sites that are on jek's/BW's blacklist (like multipoker??)

Talking on BW about sites that they are not affiliated with are fine. The only problem comes when someone posts a better or different bonus from a site in which they are affiliated with. Like various party sign up bonuses. The reason for this being that this is how BW makes their money, so they want you to sign up thru their links.

It is of course up to 2+2 to decide what goes up here, but personally I think it makes the forums less attractive that one of the forums are commercialized like this without proper distinction.

Affiliate bonuses have been discussed here.

Plus it's not jut affiliate bonuses, but any bonus that conflicts with BW's affiliate status. Not to mention that they have a history of restricting certain bonus discussion on their forums without it even affecting them.
