legit, but obviously when they are playing casinos it is a sign they are past their time. Tunica is a big step up from county fairs though, so they probably have some life left. Yes, I saw REO Speedwagon at Cheyenne Frontier Days. [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]

..the tull was very big late sixties/early seventies as they had a good rock sound and and spiritual-based themes to songs/albums...but..

they should not still be playing...strom thurmond a senator at age 100 is less disgusting..

If winning a heavy metal Grammy isn't a sign of rock legitimacy, then I don't know what is. "Pop Flautist" also sounds like it would be a good name for a gay porn star.

Well, Tunica did pull in Sugar Ray which surprised me - they're only live 5 years removed from fame. And I was actually impressed that Loggins and Messina needed 2 18 wheelers to carry their stuff this weekend. They must be putting on bigger/better shows than I thought.

I saw them live on the Thick as a brick and Passion Play tours back in the 70's. They were selling out the LA Forum multiple nights so they were definately legit. Tull was a great rock band back then, don't know about nowadays.

I haven't listened to Jethro Tull in a long time, but I have some CD of The London Symphony (or some famous symphony) playing a bunch of Jethro Tull's hits. I doubt that a symphony would waste their time with a novelty act. Jethro Tull is solid. Thick as a Brick was one of my favorites.

I remember back in the day, when people ask me what I was listening to, and I replied, 'Jethro Tull'. They would say, 'Oh, you mean the guy that plays the flute?'.

Great band. This thread caused me to listen to Aqualung on the way in to work, and reminisce about seeing them at the SF Civic Auditorium many years ago. It was funny riding BART after the show - bunch of broke college kids, the old-hippie-burnout Tull fans, and the yuppies fresh out of Les Mis. Not much conversation going on there...
