Playing short handed 10 20. Two bets in preflop with my T9.
Flop T97 we go cap. Turn 3 three bets. River is 7 check-check.

He shows KK and sit outs immidietly, ok I have used to hit n runs. But then begins the insulting.
"You [censored] retard"
"Poor [censored]"
"Go back to beg on streets like everyone else on your family"
"We will bombard whole [censored] india"

Then the guy leaves.

I kept myself away of saying anything back, but noticed afterwards this bothered me a bit and couldn't concentrate 100% on game.

Dont people just have any manners?

I reported him to support, maybe im a girl or whatever...

If this type of thing gets to you just turn off chat. The guy is clearly an idiot - you should be laughing at him rather than letting it effect your play.

What an ignorant prick. Racial insults really tick me off. Particularly when its directed at India! A (relatively) progressive democracy and ally of the United States. Do these people know nothing of the global political situation? I can't recall a single time in history where America bombed India. Hell, America supported India on the Burman border against Imperial Japan in World War 2.

Online poker is full with all kinds of racist dirt-bags, who feel very comfortable about speaking their minds. Relatively often I have to read antisemitic comments, for instance, or to sit by someone with the ID "Gestapo-SS". I always report them, and I don't think it is weak to do so. They deserve to get their chat permanently off, and some IDs are way too offensive to be allowed (on Stars there are such icons too, I have personally made support block few icons).

there is a tremendous amount of information in that smack. as a matter of fact, it is really only one of a couple of reliable online tells.

you don't have to engage in the conversation. you can pretend it is off, but imo, one should never actually turn chat off.

i have been playing alot of live poker lately and when i get home and decide to play a SnG to unwind, i realize that internet poker is really a math game more than a traditional poker game. the reason for this is the absence of reliable tells. turning chat off is similar to blasting your ipod so loud at B&M games because you are tired of all the trash talk. many pros say they pretend they can't hear to avoid having to be brought into the fray, but they never miss a word that is spoken.

last week i was amazed at what i read in the chat.
i'm in a hand with this other guy i flopped top2 with KJ, then check raised the turn of a T. he thinks then calls. river is an A. in the chat i see "i have a Q, i'll check if u do" so i do and sure enough the guy shows Q9. he later said he read me for AQ but didn't say y he called if he read me for the nuts on the turn.

I report a couple players a month for extreme vulgarity, berating players incessantly, etc. If the host site believes that such chat is bad for business or violates their standards, then they have every right to enforce a code of conduct on their own private property.

I've never reported anyone to CS yet, but if I ever run into the 'N-Bomb' throwing moron again I will. Twice one month he hit my table and he's probably busted out.

The normal blowing off steam or tilt talk is fine with me. But it does get over the edge at times.

Anytime someone chats in a rude manner, smile. They lack self-control and thus are weak. If you react to their stupid chat, then you are weak. Be concerned. Chatting has nothing to do with the hands, unless it affects you. I love it when people chat; it gives me lots of information. FWIW.

Well it's pretty easy to smile if people are just being rude in a normal poker/tilty manner. They can say all they want.

However, when it becomes racist-rude, where the racist insults are directed at you, smiling is not an option. These kind of people should not be allowed to chat, period. I actually don't even want to take their money, they just make me sick.

After I bust someone in a tourney, it's like 5,4,3,2,1 and then I hear Sand Nigggger or camel jockey or something like that.

I can't refrain from just lighting up the bigot right there and I'm pretty good at it.

It's funny, but I keep reading about all this racist crap that seems to be going on at Party, Stars, etc... and I can honestly tell you that I don't see 1/10th of it at True. There's the ocassional idiot, but nothing like you guys are describing. I'm wondering if True is just quicker to shut these guys up by taking their chat privileges, or if they just don't get as many 12 year olds as the rest of the sites?
