I dont think there's a problem as long as it is in moderation. If a person gets out of control with spamming their gimmick account, and if it's especially unfunny they might need to see the ban stick for a day or so.

I think they should have to post more than 10 times to get banned. I can tolerate a few corny posts, but overkill shouldn't be excepted. That idiot who only posted SIIHP should've been banned wayyyyy earlier.

i don't see how i possibly am? it's not like i DID ban anyone, or even THOUGHT about banning anyone. i was merely asking a question. i don't think that me being a mod should prevent me from asking a question that apparently others have asked without taking flak for it.

i considered making what would probably be a much more accepted thread of "should the following gimmicks be banned ..." but i didn't because i wanted to actually know what people thought about the subject.

jeez, it's not like i got insulted in a chat room and started banning people left and right for laughing at my popped collar or something.

If you're logging on thu a service provider don't they randomly assign numbers every time you log on? I know the provider keeps a record of who had what number and when used, etc., so they can track down pervs and perps.

'always on' connections like DSL or Cable have the same IP address for weeks/months at a time.

Dial up changes each time though.
