Kind of a Lame Post : Name Me
Um yeah. This is pretty lame, I will admit, but I need a restaurant name. My real name is Brighten, and when I make reservations for a restaurant over the phone or give my name to the cashier at a coffee shop or Jamba or whatever, it's always a pain because they have to ask me to repeat it more than once. So I think it would be best if I came up with an alternate identity for when I go out for food, just to simplify things and make life easier both for me and the restaurant employee. I've been meaning to do this for a while kind of, but have never taken the time to come up with a name that would be fun. I use Rufio sometimes at Jamba. But anyway, if anybody has any ideas that'd be nice. I would probably plan on using this for quite a while, probably years.

My real name is Bearcat so I have the same problem. Boris works pretty well. You can use it too if you want.

F*ck that. It's a memorable name(repeat customer-wise). How often are they going to run into someone named Bright? Sure, at first they'll fumble and call you something close.
People screw up my name all the time. Brian, Ryan, Vernon, Benni, Ernie and countless more. When I used to contract, I'd just let the customer call me whatever. I'd know who they were talking to. I just made sure they spelled it right when they cut the check. You have a unique name, use it. But if you must, why not use Dim? [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] b |

I feel your pain. My last name is long and very German. Nobody can pronounce it correctly, even though I think it's honestly pretty easy. The hard "ich" sound at the end gets everyone especially.
