Who\'s going to the final table? (with vote)

Looking at the remaining field, which pro do you think is more likely to make it to the final table?

You forgot the choice: "Lady luck decides it"

You also forgot the choice "Chip Reese"

What\'re The Odds None Of Them Do?

569 left, remember. But w/300K you have to like Greg's chances. Superb title defense(and he got sixth in a prelim w/2K+ entrants) no matter what happens.

I'll go with Lederer at this point. Hard to argue with the big chip stacks, but I think the professor has enough chips to make a run this year.

Uncanny, you named the final table + 1. Almost all will be correct answer.

The Grinder has been my pick from day one. I'm going with him, Raymer, and Watkinson as final 3.

I like Ivey more than anyone on this list, even on a relatively short stack. Of the ones listed, though, I'd have to go with Greg, with Howard as a backup.

Another vote for the Grinder. I think a lot of people are all over Raymer because he posts here and they want to tell their friends " How me and Raymer talk on the Message Boards all the time"
I think a lot of people here wouldnt even acknowledge him if he didnt post here

Why is everybody picking on him? Just beacuse he happen to be a big guy or out of envy? He seems like a very intelligent person with a good game. Kinda the same thing with Robert V. He might have been very lucky to win but what has that to do with his personal qualitys?

I wasnt picking in him, I jsut commented that there is a lot of Raymer Butt Kissing on this board. Not a comment on him or his playing ability.

I jsut think if he wasnt a poster on this board, a lot of the Raymer Worshippers wouldnt be around.

People here who have seen lots of Greg's posts know that he's a scary, scary player when he's got chips. I think he's as scary as anyone when behind a big stack. He got my vote because of this. Also, he got my vote because people will play poorly against him because they want to knock out the champ. A big stack loves this. Yet another reason is that he has experince winning this thing and has gotta be full of confidence right now.

Re: Who\'s going to the final table? (with vote)

i voted juanda despite his modest stack, because juanda is widely regarded as the best preflop nlhe player in the world, and it seems like a lot of the action in this world series is happening preflop.

on the other hand, the chances of any of these guys making the final table, at this point, is still pretty freakin small

Layne Flack and The Grinder also share most of these traits, though. Maybe without the experience at the big one, but they have plenty of major tournament experience. The only added advantage Greg has over them is the fact that people might be gunning for him more, but this might make it harder for him at times as well...

And no love for Jason Lester becuase this is a pick one list and he really doesn't have the reputation that some of these other players do (other than the one major final table).

Raymer/Flack. Hopefully Farha and Ivey too. Can you imagine the style of play? Super aggression! Would be great to watch.

better question:

Will Ivey smile if he wins?

but i like raymer's chances with a big stack. he played it really well last year (knocked out one of my buddies in the final 3 tables)

Well, Varkonyi went out on Day One of 2003 and Moneymaker did the same in 2004. I have no idea what Juan Carlos Mortenson did in 2002 but he missed the money for sure. Pretty impressive to be ninth out of 569.

Greg Raymer will be out in 14th place, that is my prediction.

I started laughing when I read this, and I have no idea why.

I'd love to see a final table with a few of these guys and Ivey. Cardplayer just put up another list of recent bustouts and I see very few if any big names on the list. It's already down to 430 or so and looking like it's going to be a great finish.

Title: Lederer Doubles Up
Log: With the board showing Ad-9h-8s-7d, Howard Lederer moves all-in for his last $26,000, and is called by a player who shows Q-Q. Lederer shows Kd-7d for a flush draw, a straight draw, and one overcard. The river is the Kh, and is good enough to double up Lederer to nearly $110,000.
