Poker floor manager packing heat??

I was at the Mirage 2 weeks ago, and when the poker floor manager walked by, his jacket blew open, and i could have sworn I saw him carrying a gun in one of those suspenders-style elastic holsters...

I'm not 100% sure, but pretty darn sure; maybe 90/10.
Is it common practice for floor people to be packing??

In NV anyone with a concealed weapon permit can carry in a casino.

Just not sure if the casino would like him packing.
Not good PR if he shoots someone who stiffed a dealer.

Yeah, most gun owners who carry go around shooting people for minor breaches of etiquette.

[/ QUOTE ]Ok, can you describe ANY activity using his gun that the casino WOULD approve of?

His name-badge didn't say "Security", it said "Poker".

Someone runs in from off the street and starts shooting the place up. At that point you'd want all of your employees and guests to be trained and packing.

Odds are very good that he will never, ever have to pull the piece out. But if he does, it will be for a very good reason.

If I carried large amounts of cash on my person, I would carry a pistol as well.

Are you sure about that? I distinctly remember seeing a sign about firearms in the front lobby of Harvey's (Tahoe) that limited firearm to law enforcement personnel or some such.

Unless otherwise posted by the owners of the property, it is legal.

(At least that's what I've learned from reading some info via Google.)
