Where can I get denominations put on my chips?

When I first bought my chips about a year and a half ago I didnt know what type of limits my friends and I would be playing so I did not get denominations put on them. Now we have a regular 1-2 hold 'em game and I would like to add them. So I have 2 questions:

1. Do places put denominations/logos on chips that have been used (very little wear and tear)?

2. Where is a good place to take them in Vegas, for both quality and price?

Thanks in advance!

I think you may have answered your own question when you said you didn’t know what limits you would be playing. The problem is that as soon as you place denominations on the chips your need will change. You may start playing a lot of hold-em tournaments and need a variety of denominations and even more so if you host larger tournaments. Chips without denominations can be used for any amounts you need. In fact, you can even use non-traditional amounts and colors. I have always chosen to keep my chips blank and as a result they can be used for anything from a penny to a thousand. Best of luck.

Lumpy, I love you answer the best!

11.5 gram clay composite chips.

With the regards to labels, do your chips have a recessed (sunken) center for the label to go in. If not, the label is more likely get damaged, peel off or affect the stacking of the chip. Most dice or suited chips don't have a recessed center so labeling them can be problematic but is still doable.

No, they dont have a recessed center. I was thinking of the gold foil hot stamp to put on the chips.

It's quite possible that hot stamping would cost you more than the chips themselves. Definitely look into labels. There are plenty of places to get custom labels made.

I was afraid of that. Do you have a website that sells labels that you could recomend?

Mookie:

Labels are probably the best way to go. However, if you don't have a recessed center in your chip, the labels may make it more difficult to stack them. Since the 'clay composite' 11.5g's aren't the best for stacking anyway, you may not be happy with the result.

Nonetheless, if you're looking for advice on how to label, check out this site:

Label Design

By the way, the whole site is great for information about chips.

I'm pretty sure that you'll find that having someone do the labels for you will exceed the cost of the chips. In fact, it may be cheaper for you to buy a complete set.

In this regard, Nexgen may be the best value if you intend on labelling (they have a recessed center, so the label fits in).

I don't think we're supposed to post ads, but PM me, I'll be happy to share a couple of sites I've found that will customize.
