Wow, thanks for the info. Any idea how long this is good for? I was looking to buy a new laptop towards the end of the summer, but this just might push that timetable up.

To head off the inevitable, these two notebooks enable you to play 4 tables without overlap. BUT YOU MUST SELECT WUXGA SCREEN RESOLUTION (1920x1200). Good luck.

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

Expect Dell's servers to be slow, and for the coupon to burn out in a few hours. They will get many hits as the coupon is good for only 11K uses (or until Thursday @ 3:59p, which will never happen).

For some reason, only the 9300 lists WUXGA screen as an option. The 6000 has only the WXGA lists. So - from your post -

only the 9300 would be a good multitable option?

It would still be 1400 bucks or 233 BB's.

Any possibility that this is available in Canada? Not likely, never is.

how often do they do this? whats a good poker multitable laptop?

I already checked on this, and the short answer is no. I know a couple people that are having someone south of the border buy it for them, that's probably the best way.

They must not have the 6000 with WUXGA screen in stock if it's not an option this time around. When this deal happened in April, I bought the 6000 with WUXGA for $800 after the deal.

Would've responded sooner, but my #1 buddy lister is playing Party $2/4.

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

Does the price of the laptop (after customizing) have to be within a certain range? Or does it apply to all those laptop builds after customization as long as it is more than $1499?
Thanks

I can't speak for the current deal, as I haven't researched it, but for the one in April...it just had to cost more than $1500 after customization (or straight off the line). The $750 would come off this price.

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

I can use this on a dimension 4700 then correct? It just has to be over 1500?

Your total is what it takes off. So load it up with a 3-4 year warranty, a hi-res screen, and all the other things you want. I did this coupon code last time and I am very happy with my 600m and it totaled out to $1600. However it was only $800. Also see if they offer free shipping at the time. That's an additional $50, so its better to get it free. Research all the models on cnet.com and figure out which one will fit you best (size/weight, speed, capabilities)

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

they have the 6000 with the wugxa that you were talking about for 685 right now.

And you don't need a coupon.

djack 06-21-2005 02:32 AM

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

I assume that the coupon wouldn't have made the 6000 less than 685?

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

What are the differences between the 6000 and 9300 besides the 17 inch screen? Since you can 4 table on both what advantages are there in getting the 9300?

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

I have never bought from Dell, so I have a couple questions...

I realize they have had the $750 off before, how quick do you have to be to get within the first 11,000 people?

another question, If you type in the code, do you know before you choose to buy the machine whether you got the $750 off or not?

Thanks in advance (This is my first post, great site)

So If you are planning to buy a 20" monitor for $525, they will essentially throw in a desktop for $225.....sweet

PS. Dont forget to get your ebates 2% back

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

A big thanks to Milo for posting this. I ordered this morning and got my laptop for under a grand. Ended up with a 6000 1.5 with a WUXGA screen.

I am finally making the conversion from a mac so that I can play somewhere other than pokeroom. Hopefully, my bonuses will help cover the cost pretty quickly.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

Wow, this deal was AWFUL. Normally these have been very hot, with good discounting. Today the preconfigureds that they let you use had the prices articificially jacked up. No savings to be had here (Or atleast very little).

See the fatwallet thread regarding this deal. What a letdown.

Now, I wanna poke my eyes out after reading that. I never impulse buy until this morning....

tilt creeps in...

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

I wouldn't get too busted up. If you got a good laptop for under 1k, then its a good deal. I'm just saying this is nowhere near as hot as the previous ones. =)

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

It is still a helluva deal to get a fully loaded laptop for around $1000... Who knows, they may never run the $750 off again, so I couldn't wait around and end up getting stuck paying $1500 plus for a nice laptop.

Re: Dell Deals (not spam)

Yeah, my buyer's remorse has passed. It ended up only being 960 with a WUXGA screen, bag, mouse, 3 years accidental care (good choice for me), and shipping.

I am ready to hit some new rooms. Pokeroom only (for my mac) is getting old. Now, I just have to tell the wife unit.
