I'm a rakeback newbie, so excuse my question:

This is still better than a typical rakeback deal on a Party skin, yes? As in, if I could only play this bonus or only play a different skin with rakeback, I'm better off playing the bonus?

so they finally wised up and just made the reloads harder to clear. Now if only they would have saved face in the first place and just made it harder to clear instead of just going on a banning spree and then changing the clearing requirements

I don't get it.

The bonus is 15X. Sure it's not 5X or 7X. I play 200-250 hands/hr most of which are raked (1/2 or 2/4). 1500 hands is 6-7, maybe 8 hours of play. $100/8hr = $12.50/hr.

Do all of you play so high that a $12.50/hr overlay at the softest site of all means nothing to you? Where do (or would) most of you play when there is no bonus?

For me at 1/2 or 2/4 (usually 2/4 now) $12.50/hr is a significant overlay on top of my earn even at or above 2BB/100.

Not everyone can 4-table the 1/2 or 2/4. For some it's easier to clear. Others 2-table the .5/1 so it will take alot longer...

Yes, even at 20x for a new player the reload will be more profitable than rakeback.

Going to 15x playthrough is a step in the right direction for Empire, but the 10 day requirement is still stupid. Empire (and Party) each insist on handing out bonuses that are extremely difficult to clear in time without multitabling. Obviously this is no big deal for us, but you'd think they would want to make it possible for recreational players to take full advantage as well.

What does Empire gain by requiring the play to occur in a 10 day span? The rake they earn is the same regardless, right?

Free money is good. However, I'd rather earn the free money at two or three times quicker the clearing rate than Empire has offered. Which I can at any time I choose.

So therefore, instead of earning less by playing Empires new offer I'll earn more by playing elsewhere, using the same time involved.

That's my choice.

It does suck when it is about the lowest bonus amount, and 2-3 times slower to clear than what they historically offer.

Just because it is better than nothing doesn't mean it doesn't suck.

By making the bonus harder to clear in the time alloted, they gain in that people will contribute to the rake without clearing the bonus.

Do you have numbers to back that up? Here's my Pokertracker data from Party skins:

Hands: 16,790
Raked: 8,771

That says only 52% of hands played are raked. So you're looking at playing 3000 hands for a $100 bonus, unless my numbers are really skewed (which I doubt). So 4-tabling on Empire, say 250 hands/hour, means playing 12 hours, for $8.33/hr. Better than nothing, but not nearly as good as what it once was.

GET15 is a 5x bonus and you get a month to complete it.
I would try to finish that one up pretty quick then deposit for June and play some more.

Wtf are you talking about?

Let's say I generate $400 in rake at 1500 hands of 5/10 or 10/20 6max.

With bonus: $100 + ($400-100) x 30% = $190
W/o bonus: $400 x 30% = $120

Although I could be wrong, I don't think I am. The bonus is subtracted from your MGR, so basically you get 100% of $100 instead of 20-30%.

This is, with the exception of the 10 days to clear, a fish-friendly bonus, which I heartily support. Empire/Party is in need of an infusion of "recreational" players right now, and if they get it it's certainly worth the 15X terms for us grinders.

(Opinion heavily biased since Empire is one of my two primary sites anyway"

Ah - I failed to account for the raked hand %age. 1/2 is better than 52% - more like 65%. But even so, you're looking at but 2300 hands in ten days. So 230 hands a day for all 10 days. That's too brutal for me. Looks like I'll pass on this one...

uh, do you do rakeback? if not, then shut up. when you clear a bonus (at least from my rakeback site) you have a negative MGR, thus your rakeback is negative, thus you LOSE money you had made. examples of days when i cleared empire bonuses:

Yeah, if you are an SNG player, at some point you have to just move on from the bonus whoring.
My hourly rate chasing the bonus circuit can no longer compete with my hourly rate playing SNGs. As a result, I don't play the bonuses anymore. It is a natural evolution in any players game.
If I was going to use them though, I'd probably rely on them as a subsidy while learning to play a new game.

Not only is this a higher clear rate than many other bonuses now offered, but the minimum rake to get a raked hand is up to double what most others have also.

So you have to play 2 or 3 times as many raked hands at up to double the rake to clear, compared to some other sites bonuses.

Yes, if does effect you rakeback, but acts like a 100% rakeback until your MGR meets the bonus, it is net 75$, or 100-your rakeback %.

The bonuses subtract entirely from your MGR, not entirely from your rakeback. If you clear a $100 bonus and generate $200 in rake, your rakeback program calculates that you've generated $200-$100=$100 in rake. So, you get $25 in rakeback + $100 in bonuses, when you would've made $50 in rakeback without the bonus.

yes, it is free money on a party skin, great! but empire's had these reloads every month for as long as i can remember and the highest they've ever been has been 10x. now it's 15x and you're saying "oh, that's ok". next it'll be 20x like multi and party could follow suit when they see the players are accepting it. that would be wonderful huh?

and second, thanks for telling everyone here how wonderful absolute is now and how great the small-stakes tables are. you succeeded in filling it up with a bunch of new multitabling sharks and 2+2 bonuswhores. do you not like money? let others do the legwork. same goes for banditdad the other who told everyone about it. out

50 NL is what I have current stats for:

1500 raked hands=~2275 total hands
2275 hands*.5194 average rake, divided by 9.17 average players makes the players MGR 128.86 for the 2275 hands. Subtract 100 bucks from the MGR, for a leftover of 28.86, get your 25% (for simplicity) rakeback and that's a shiny $7.22 in your pocket.

Now, if you weren't clearing a bonus, you'd have received an additional $25 in rakeback- which is more than offset by the HUNDRED DREAKING DOLLARS you just received for your bonus.

I make a little more than $40 per 1,000 hands in rakeback at Eurobet. Figuring that slightly more than half of my hands are raked, I'd need nearly 3,000 hands to make $100 with that bonus at Empire.

In essence, I'd get $20 more just doing my standard rakeback deal.
