Lol, and in the previous hand, A high called down. Was the guy with the queens watching?

To a bet and a raise, that's usually the correct play. If he couldn't get Darden out of the hand, he would have lost to Darden't two-pair anyway.

I don't mind the cold-call with QQ pre-flop. With judicial use, it can be a good play. Of course, it's far better with AA or KK.

Re: WPT - Party Poker tonite

I wasn't really paying attention to the hand, just heard "calls with A WIRED MONSTER PAIR OF POCKET QUEENS" and then turned my head to see him fold.

In that context it was the right play post flop, but it still made me giggle.

Forgive my ignorance b/c I play SSHE, but how does Darden call that guy down on the first hand? Is it because he probably has a read on him from previous play in the tourney, or was the guy's bluff a common bluff line?

Just curious because I prolly would have folded to the turn bet.

Dynasty 06-15-2005 09:17 PM

Re: WPT - Party Poker tonite

See, the same guy just made it work with JJ.

The bet by the guy with AJ on the river was poor after he's been called twice. AJ is the nut no-pair. If somebody is calling a bet on the flop and turn on a drawless board, they're usually not folding the river nearly enough with a better hand.

Re: WPT - Party Poker tonite

Yeah, it must have been knowledge from other hands in the tourney.

As moderator of this forum, I'm not going to put up with these kind of insults targed at TV players.

So, why don't you make like a tree, and get outta here.

95 vs A3

I thought it was interesting that Paul Darden bet out on the river OOP with his low two pair after he got raised on the turn when his opponent outdrew him to make two pair (AA33). The flop was checked through. Do you think Paul was planning on folding to a river raise? Or did he want to make a dangerous 3bet with the flush and straight out there?

Some of these plays are pissing me off in their fishiness. Why it should piss me off who knows.

Edit to say Adam is pissing me off.

Re: WPT - Party Poker tonite

Most of them are just annoying, Darden and the Air Force guy are the only ones who are vaguely likeable, (maybe the guy who declined 6K to play in the tournament too) and I'm not even much of a Darden fan.

Adam looks like a super donk created by the Matrix.

Yup. Besides him screwing up the blind squirrel bit, it was also annoying when he was snippy about losing with his deuces to treys. You just hit a massive suckout with T2o. Now you are going to gripe about suck-resuck? Please lose. That is all.

THIS IS NOT IRONY VINCE VAN PATTEN.

What in the hell is going on in this hand.

Woah, this dude is from Storrs? I could've sworn they said Ivy Leaguer a minute ago, but who lives in Storrs who doesn't go to Uconn..

Adam is a very typical Party Poker player.

I had dinner with Mattthew, Edtost, Merctec, and LuvToDriveTT at Borgata a while back. That was shortly after this tournament was played. He didn't mention it at all. I didn't know that he had made the final table until TT told me later. He is modest and a very nice guy.

But it is different people that annoy each of us.

Also, player-hating is part of the fun.

I really like the guy, he's making all of the little annoying comments that are usually just stupid, but he's getting under his opponents skin so perfectly, and looks like he's having an amazing time.
