Lunch @ Chipotle
So I got lunch from Chipotle today, for the first time. This was my rookie choice:
Fajita burrito w/ chicken, hot sauce, cheese. To drink: Negra Modelo beer. How was my play? (Results later) |
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I like the Fajita Burritos pick, not a big bean fan myself. Next time try the steak, it's better than the chicken. Good call on the beer.

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I always go burrito, pinto beans, steak, mild salsa, cheese, lettuce.
I might try out the fajita burrito next time. Good call. ~D |

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I love the hard tacos.
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
Interesting. So I'm hearing the steak is the best meat, and the hard tacos are good. Maybe I'll get steak tacos next time, but stick with the Negra Modelo -- because damn that tasted good with spicy Mexican food.

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
There is no one "correct" play at Chipotle...personal preference is the deciding factor. Personally, my standard fare is a Barbacoa burrito with black beans, mild salsa, sour cream and lettuce.
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
steak fajita burrito (sometimes extra steak), mild salsa, cheese, sourcream, guac, lettuce. It's the tease.
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
Chicken tacos, hard shell, medium corn and hot salsas, cheese, sour cream, guac, a spattering of chipolte Tabasco (self-applied) to finish it off. Small drink, coke with a splash of lemonade.

[ QUOTE ] So I got lunch from Chipotle today, [/ QUOTE ] Winner. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. Well-played. I'm all about the steak, though. It's definitely the best. The burrito is the way to go, too, because Mexican is all pretty much the same - meat, cheese, and lettuce on a tortilla, but the burrito typically gets you more food for the same price. I guess it'd be a little different if you were a fan of the crunchy taco shells, then that's the way to go. |
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I've never had the steak, but now after reading this I will have to give it a shot soon. I usually go for the chicken burrito with pinto beans, sour cream, corn, and medium salas.
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
Burrito, half chicken, half steak, pinto and black beans, hot salsa, extra cheese and no sour cream
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I'm an anti-beanite. No beans for this man. I go pretty plain, as far as number of ingredients at least. Steak burrito with no beans, and then just cheese and lettuce. I love when they put a little extra flavoring in the rice. Mmmmmm... Chipotle.

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I usually go with the barbacoa or chicken burrito, black beans, medium salsa, sour cream, guac, cheese, and lettuce. biggest coke they sell to top it off

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
The steak looks really dry. I like the regular beef. Reminds me the most of what you got in HS or at Taco Bell. I've never had the other meats there so I can't compare.

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
Carnitas is TEH WIN!!!
|
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
chicken, blackbeans, rice, mild salsa, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, free drink (student =P), and side of corn salsa
BAM! |

There is no one "correct" play at Chipotle [/ QUOTE ] So wrong... The correct play is to order double meat when it is really busy. 75% of the time you dont get charged and end with a much better burrito. My personal choice: Steak Fajita Burrito, no beans, corn and mild salsa, cheese and lettuce. |
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
I've never eaten at Chipolte, even though there is one 2 blocks from my work.... Does the food actually overcome the lack of spanish rice? Isn't Chipolte owned by McD's??

Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
[ QUOTE ] The correct play is to order double meat [/ QUOTE ] Yes, and it's not close. My well-optimized (after many iterations) well-balanced play: barbacoa bol with their usual tortilla (burrito shell) on the side, "extra carnitas" (an off-menu option; and it's way underpriced ~$1.50 extra for any such meat), no rice (tastes fine but not really worth the empty calories), pinto or black (both are good), hot salsa, corn, sour cream, extra sour cream, some cheese, guac, lettuce! That's exactly the right order to say it, too. |
Re: Lunch @ Chipotle
Yeah it is owned my McDs. It's still smashing.
Bol, pork, rice, black, some sour cream, lots of cheese, hot. Wicked. |

[/ QUOTE ] My roommate noticed one day that if you were to order a vegetarian burrito, get an "extra scoop" of meat and the free guac, that the result would be cheaper than getting a normal burrito and guac. I successfully managed to convince him that nobody at Chipotle would buy this reasoning. |
