Vegas Steak Houses
Any rec's on the BEST (not cheapest) Steak houses in Vegas?
Thanks, doc |
Re: Vegas Steak Houses
My favorite was Craftsteak inside the MGM. It was the shiz.

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
N9NE Steak House at the Palms serves the best filet I've ever had in Vegas.
Prime at the Bellagio is also among the very best. You should expect to easily spend over $100 per person at either of these places. |
Re: Vegas Steak Houses
Delmonico's in the Venetian is the best, IMO.
I'd also recommend Morton's (about a mile east of the strip, on the NE corner of Flamingo and Paradise.) The tourists probably won't want to drive this far, but there's an excellent steakhouse in the NW part of town called Bob Taylor's Ranch House. Another one that I would recommend is Austin's in the Texas Station. |
Re: Vegas Steak Houses
has anyone ever tried del frisco's double eagle steak house?

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
I 2nd the N9NE for great steak and the best all around scene if you like steakhouse meets nightclub. It always my first dinner in any Vegas trip.

Austin's in the Texas Station. The best steak that I've ever had!!

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
I want to second the thought on the steakhouse in Circus Circus. I went there a couple of years ago on a recommendation from a friend who does a lot of business in LV with the visitors and travelers bureau. Also read a review calling it one of LV's pleasant unexpected surprises...and it was.
I also like the steakhouse on the top floor of Binion's downtown. (The concierge at the Bellagio suggested to me when I was there last month that it was the only decent place to eat downtown.) I have never been to N9ne in LV, but worked across from the one in Chicago for over a year. That place struck me as trendier than a steak house, but I am sure the steaks there are quite good. Of course, it seems like many of the national chains are well represented including the previously mentioned Morton's, as well as Ruth's Chris and Smith and Wolensky. All of them quite dependable for an excellent steak as well, but my preferences always tends towards local flavors as opposed to the places that are available in Chicago (or most other large cities, for that matter.) Bottom line, these days, there are a lot of good/great steakhouses to choose from. |

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
People like Circus Circus because it is inexpensive for the quality you get. You will get out of there for $40 a person or less. It is by no means the best steak house in Vegas, but it is a very good value and the food is good.
The only other equivalent type place I can think of for that price is Lawrys, which is Prime Rib, not steak. Harrah's Range Steakhouse has a decent vibe about it and is pretty good. Binions Ranch Steakhouse is better quality food at about the same price as Harrah's. Ruth's Chris is also very good. All of those will set you back $60-70 a person after alcohol, tax, and tip. I can't speak as to the $100+ places as I have not eaten at those. BTW, if you are looking for atmosphere, I would recommend Prime at Bellagio, or Top of the World Restaurant at Stratosphere......not a steak house strictly speaking though. |
Re: Vegas Steak Houses
Best real "dry aged beef," at The Steakhouse in T.I or the restaurant of the same name at Circus Circus. I have not been back to CC in a few years but it was truly awesome. The aging room was right in the front so you would walk past the sides of beef. First time I ate there, John Gotti and friends were also in the room...but I think they got a discount. Don't order individual side dishes at either place unless you weigh 400 and are heading north on the fat scale. Share things.
I just ate at Delmonicos at the Venetian and it was OK..but not as good as the Steakhouse at T.I. I forget the name of the place tucked in between the drug store and MGM on the east side of LV Boulevard but if you have not eaten in three days by all means find it.(Now I remember...It's Alen Alberts, NOT Wolenskys). I had a huge steak with a lobster tail and then waddled over to Caesars where I tried to nap on a slot machine. Enormous quantity of food. |

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
I ate at The Steakhouse at TI back in November and I thought it was great. On business I've eaten at the likes of Morton's and Ruth's Chris and I think The Steakhouse at TI was just as good as those.

Re: Vegas Steak Houses
Man this question gets asked alot and I will answer it all the time, since I love a good steak and have been to most of those restaurants mentioned in this thread.
If you want good steak, Circus Circus. Very good. If you want a famous hotel that has a steakhouse there are lots of those and they are mentioned here. But let me elaborate by way of an example. Was in town in Feb. with a buddy and we had dinner three nights in a row at Prime with zillionaire bank owner/wine collector buddy. Had the New York, the Rib Eye and Filet. All were good, no doubt. But take away the boot licking service for millionaires and the view of the fountains and it is not better than Circus Circus. Period. Oh, and you pay for that view and that service, through inflated steak prices. |
