The Borgata.....how tough is the $10/$20?

I've been playing the $6/$12 for a while and beat it regularly. I'd like to play a few more sessions and then move up to the $10/$20. How much tougher is it? Thanks!

It's often easier.

not trying to hijack your thread but hows the 6/12 game there usually compared to the 3/6?

tougher, i think, but none of these games are "tough." It's been a year and a half since I've played the 3/6.

Take a chance and sit down.

If you can beat the $6-$12 game, you can beat the $10-$20 game.

The players do not play any tougher.

Late night Saturday night/Sunday morning 10/20:

I get ATo, flop an ten, lose to trip 2s on the turn after I checkraise the flop. The guy was playing 27o and only flopped a 2. That is an example of the play during the late night hours. TPTK doesn't hold up as much when there are many callers.

I'm hitting the Borg this weekend, will probably sit in the 3/6 to start. sounds pretty fishy. unfortunateely am going up with the wife and she'll kill me if I play the 6/12 or 10/20.

What is the structure like, rake or time?

Up to 6/12 its 10% with a $4 max. 10/20 is $5/half

But here's what someone else thought of it: http://poker.wikicities.com/wiki/Borgata

I played 10/20 the Fri. b/f Mem. Day and the play was awful. Nobody had a clue PF. Flop was pretty aggressive but in a generally bad way. Turn and river were somewhat passive. I've played 6/12 a couple of times and thought the 10/20 table was worse. Standard sample size disclaimer though.

Now I mainly stick to tournaments online, but when I go to a casino, I usually stick to the cheaper limits. Due to no cheap omaha hi games and being broke due to no employment by going to college.

When I eventually get out of school and make a decent living I plan to step up in limits. I see limit as a grind even in higher stakes. Just harder to get reads on people, and you have plenty of people chase you down to hit whatever possible draw they have on the river. I feel limit is more relaxed then no limit, and I always feel more at ease when at the table. I played basic 300 max 1/2 NL in AC before. I thought the play was decent (better than other places of the country I have played cards in), but the stress is heavy on me, mainly because I play with a limited poker roll. So I think I play better overall at NL, but find the bad beats to be crushing to my limited poker roll. My limit play is decent, but I am not sure, if I can make a consistant profit at it on higher stakes.

I am usually at a 3/6 to 4/8 player when at a casino. I also will enjoy the occasional 2-10 spread game (at the few places I have seen one). How is it when you take a step up to 5/10, 6/12, 10/20 and so on. I mean if there is a 3x bet preflop at a 10/20 game, will you still get 5-6 callers just because everyone will call any preflop raise just to see the flop, or will you have action of only 2-3 players? I would figure a higher limit game would actually be easier than a low 2/4 or 3/6 game because since you are playing better players, they will actually fold when they are beat instead of sucking out. Though according to this thread, and others like it, at places as big as AC once you get out of the lowest limit stakes, and can just make a jump to medium range stakes, that the style of play is mainly the same.

But earlier in the day the 10/20 table I was playing at was tight. So if you are in a tight game, ask the floor for a table change.

At this point all 10-20 in AC is fishy, avg is usually about 5 to the flop (note this very often does justify people chasing on the flop for 1/2 a BB even with bottom pair)

I have heard the Borgata 10/20 is one of the softest 10/20 B and M games in the world.

what the hell does that mean? The Taj 10/20 is just as soft anyways.
