Looks good to me. You would have made less, possibly lost, if you had slowplayed.

as a rule of thumb, i like tripling raises.

Definitely be happy with that. If you bet and a scare card comes, you don't want to lose your stack or be forced to fold! If one of them has AJ, KJ, QJ, or TJ, you'll likely be taking all their chips here as well.

There's nothing wrong with this hand, you played it fine. Your chip stack increased ~30% and you've given yourself plenty of ammunition to work with over the next few rounds. I used to wonder if I should have slowed played high pairs or if I played them too agressively but I'm finally beginning to accept that holding AA or KK is not an automatic license to double or triple up when they come around. You picked up a nice pot here.

Why not bet 200 or so and make a few bucks? The board isn't completely safe but it's definitely not all that terrifying.

or more...

might as well make this one HUGE and hope to isolate this guy, and nearly force him to call it all on the flop.

Terrific over bet on that flop, I love that move.

This is my normal line, and I'm quite happy about winning this pot right here, but I have seen other players take other lines in these types of scenarios.
As jeffraider pointed out it's a decently non scaring board, so I'm thinking not extracting more value here (betting like 100/checking to induce a bluff or raising like 1/2 the pot) might be a small leak.

Thoughts?

Okay I just don't get it I guess. Why are you guys so afraid of a call from an underdog. You're clearly not concerned about being behind right now, because if someone has KK beat then you've just given them your stack (not that you should be wimpy about losing your stack here), but you're making lots of hands that are big underdogs to you fold. As tight as I play now, I don't get many spots to aquire chips with the best hand, so I'd value bet 200 into this flop about 100% of the time, and push on the turn. First, you're likely to get a call from a weak hand on this flop, and second you're also likely to get a call from a weak hand if you push the turn because you've got them a bit more commited to this pot by calling on the flop.

No?

On this flop, nah. There's lots of TT, 88, JT, etc. type hands that will take 200 for weakness and CR all in as way too small dogs.

J72, or even J92, and you can bet smaller.

don't you want these hands to cr all in? And won't betting 300 on the flop encourage people to this?

oh yeah, and definitly reraise more pf

Way too small dogs?

KK vs TT or 88 wins 75.7%, and against JT/J8 KK wins 67.5%. If AJ/KJ/QJ plays KK is 80% or so. What's so bad about that? Honestly, I'm loving it if TT CRs me all in here, and I'm surprised that you're not.

If anyone can think of a single hand that folds to an all-in bet that isn't a substantial dog to KK here, lemme know.

Also, really looking at this hand again I think a bet of 250 is better than 200. The idea is to encourage bad calls, and good players aren't calling anyways.

I have to disagree. Nothing wrong with betting smaller against an unthinking opponent. Nothing wrong with moving in, either, especially against a better player.
