Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
Look GREAT! Love the color combos but I couldn't get a good look at the inlays. Could you take a pic of the chips straight on? Awesome. Enjoy.

Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
Looks like you oiled those chips? Horsehead mold, my favorite.

What colors did you use? |

My camera sucks, so when I take a straight-on shot, the flash reflects too greatly off the chips. Unfortunately, the blue is still a little out of focus. http://img105.echo.cx/img105/1477/img08522yj.jpg |
Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
I have 1000 total with the following breakdown:
200 grey/dayglow peach 200 green/dayglow pink 300 blue/yellow 300 red/imperial blue The chips in the pics have been oiled. |
Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
where'd you get custom chips from? Can you give me a little bit of info on this? Thanks man.

Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
I got the chips from pokerchips.com. They were .50 each and I got to pick the colors and mold. I made the labels myself. The labels cost around $50 total to make, but putting them on was a pain.

Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
wow, you labeled those yourself? How's that working for you? Does it seem like the labels are raise up since ASM's don't have a recessed inlay area? Are they going to peel off?
Really nice looking chips! |

Really nice looking chips! [/ QUOTE ] The horsehead mold does have a recessed inlay. You can peel the labels off if you pick at them with a knife or something similar, but I haven't had any trouble with them during play. I have been shuffling and twirling the extras that they sent all day at the office for three months and the labels are still perfect. |

[/ QUOTE ] Is the picture of the grey chips relatively accurate? It looks very light, and almost like a true white color as opposed to the off-white color that ASM uses as their white. |
Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
The grey looks lighter in the pics, but it is still a very light gray, similar to the color of the background of the Internet Explorer toolbar.

Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
Unfortunately, the Roman mold is not recessed, or not enough for labels to be applied without affecting the chips. A sample label a friend gave me resulted in a raised, slick surface that made my chips slide much too easily.
I liked the monkey cartoons! |
Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
Looking good! What was turnaround time for the blank chips for pokerchips.com and are those 1 inch labels on there?
|
Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
It took a very long time for the chips to arrive. I ordered them in early September 2004 and they didn't arrive until the end of February. They also made a mistake with the 200 green (wrong mold), but it only took them ~2 weeks to ship the correct chips after they received the defective ones. Yes, the labels are 1 inch in diameter. They fit perfectly into the recessed inlay.

Re: Custom Chip Pics (Large Images)
I am organizing a group buy for ASM clay chips at chiptalk.net
Cathy from http://www.pokerchips.com has quoted me discounts on a group buy of ASM chips. Here are the terms: 1) Group buy is on HorseHead Mold (since I can only pick 1 mold and this seems to be everyone's favorite) with edge spots and no inlay ONLY. 2) Everyone gets to pick their own color combinations. 3) Regular retail prices are $0.50 per chip. Discounts are 10% for 10,000 chips ($0.45 each) and 20% up to 20,000 chips ($0.40 each) ordered. I want to see how much interest there are out there. I think this is a HUGE discount for so little chips ordered. |

Nice chips. Funny thing is, that white chip, it wasn't ALWAYS evil......
