My New +EV Offensive Name
 

I never had an offensive screenname before until recently. the frequency of people talking [censored] to me is higher than ever, and the frequency of people going nuts with nothing against me is also higher. I think they assume I'm a maniac or something because of my name. I don't think it's a sample size issue either. my name just strikes a nerve or something and makes people angry.

this is something ive been wondering about since i started playing online- if people chose these crazy screen names for a reason.

Im sure there are certain amount who couldnt come up with anything better but it makes me smile think that for some its part of a "tilt the whole table" strategy.

Sick thing is it seems to work.
people hate losing to someon called something along the lines of "grandmasdick" or "peestain"
(both of which made me lol)

Speaking of women's names

I opened an account for my wife on Empire, and play there when I'm clearing a bonus. It's a women's name, and I'm always amused at the banter I get.

"So, are you really an amazon?"
"Where is PDX do you like to hang out?"
"what part of poker do you like best.."

etc.

It's very +EV to ask innocently if 3 of a kind beats 2 pair.. After that, I have callers all the way to the river every time I have a hand...
