I quit!

Yes, I'm sure that I could turn this into a really long whine, but I won't do that.

I'm done with poker, and that probably means I'm done with 2+2, as well.

Good luck, everyone.

It was cuz of all those absolute whiners wasn't it?

Seriously now you'll come back. They always doooo.

Clever, but the answer is 'no' on both counts.

please, details. no one with your experience just quits.

you owe it to yourself, more than the 2+2 community, to explain why.

Good luck to you too...when you hit the tables again tonight!

But if you are really quiting we gotta hear the whine.

3900 posts since 9/04....lets see..... thats 8 months...that's 240 days .... therefore an average of 16 posts a day. 16 posts a day equals experience? Experience posting perhaps.
Most of them said people were stupid, he didn't care, and he wouldn't argue about it.
I wonder as to the deeper reasons he is quitting poker... but I can only speculate.
One less Carpal Tunnel who adds little or no value to the discussions isn't going to make a difference around here. Happy trails Angry.

I think it has more to do with his character (thin skin) as much as anything else. In the Politics forum I've seen him run away as soon as anyone challenges him to support his kooky ideas. Not that anything ever gets resolved in that forum, but it reveals some of his character. Poker is not for the faint-hearted.

Angry, work through your difficulties and don't give up so easily.

No, as I've said numerous times, I'm just not stupid enough to debate with people who have made up their minds. I could care less what you think. That's not having thin skin.. it's having sense enough to know when an argument is pointless.

Also, this post of yours is really classless.
I don't like your views, but never thought I'd see you rub salt in someone's wounds.

Another kick 'em while their down post.
Congrats.

I have no idea what you are talking about, because I've contributed far more to this forum than you ever will.

But enjoy poker, life, and the forums.

Fine.

I never actually said I was done with 2+2, just "probably".
Excuse me if I reply to my own thread about quitting poker.

However, judging from the few responses I've received, there's really no reason for me to stick around 2+2.

I thought you said you quit. Back already making bold unsubstantiated statements and complaining about people being kicked when down....wishywashy to boot...my, my. You can dish out but can't take it? Is that it? No wonder you are quiting poker, it's a man's game, too.

It's also a game of facts.
I never said I was leaving 2+2.
"probably" does not equal "Yes, as of right now."

Obviously I pissed you off at some point, and that's fine.
Bye bye.

OOT was created for 2+2ers who quit poker. At least stick around enough for everyone to get their daily EJO fix.

I am sure it was probably just a dry spell. I would recommend a week break and maybe go down in limits.

Not sure why all of these other people are tapping the aquarium.

What's the over/under on him just coming back with a new screen name?

Exsubmariner 04-26-2005 09:33 AM

Re: I quit!

All you would have to do is look for a poster who's arguments go "you're stupid, I don't care, and I am not agruing anymore." I give it 3 to 2.

I've never created a gimmick account or a secondary account... that's just not fun to me.

If you guys want to get some cheap thrill from trying to figure out if some 'new poster' is me, have fun!

Since I am a tool, and obviously a joke on these forums, I'll take the common sense approach of just leaving.

Enjoy.

At every board EXCEPT THIS ONE that I've ever been a 'member' of in my life, there has always been at least one attention whore who claims they are leaving and never coming back and taking their ball with them blah blah blah.

Thanks Angry for being the drama queen #1 here at 2 + 2!

(This is no different than the losers who threaten to kill themselves just so someone will tell them they love them. Guess what Angry, nobody loves you, and remember, it's 'down the street, not across the road')

Exsubmariner 04-26-2005 09:41 AM

Re: I quit!

There are a number of reasons. Mainly because I am a sadistic bastard and more than once upon a time he piled on with a bunch of other 700/day posters and talked about how stupid someone was, how they didn't care, and how they weren't going to argue. (note the reply to this post where all the 7 million posts in one year folks come out to defend Angry and themselves.)
I would enjoy seeing the zoo free of people who do this sort of thing all day everyday. I think it's the bomb he can't win at poker either.
I'm going to stop now, the flames are pretty high.

Re: I quit!

I don't really know Angry and I'm not in favor of kicking a guy when he's down. But I'd sure like to know, why this abrupt decision to quit poker altogether?

Run of bad beats? Lose your entire bankroll? Discovered you have a gambling problem? Wife gave you an ultimatum to stop playing? What? Judging by the replies maybe I'm the only one who's actually curious...

It would take a truly epic bad streak for me to give up the game for good.

I am currently on the worst losing streak of my life and have also though of giving up this game, but instead took time off reread my books and found some leaks. I don't know when I will return now as I only have $300 br. Probably bonus whore slumming at low limits. I took many bad beat, but did find if I had played some hands deferntly I could have gotten the longshot draws to fold. I have read many of your posts and feel you are a valuable poster and hope you reconsider. Please think about this before making a final decision unless there is a a valid reason you are doing this. Good luck in in the future and know you will be missed.

Well, if you do leave 2+2, I'm going to miss both your avatar and your handle (I love wordplay, and I've always assumed you were making a play on words in Latin).

I am curious why you are quitting poker, if you're willing to entertain a serious enquiry?

In my experience, people who make "I quit" posts always come back, usually sooner rather than later. It's the ones who just leave that stay gone.

Re: I quit!

Seeing that you've been replying to posts begs the question from me:

Why did you post saying you'd quit?
Why are you responding when you've quit?

If it were me, I wouldn't feel the need to tell anyone that I've quit, just do it. Don't argue about quitting.
