Poker on your mobile - real money now

PokerRoom.com just announced that their mobile poker client is out of the beta phase and open for real money. Anyone care to give me a Sony Ericsson so I can get going..? :-) Seriously, though, this must be the coolest thing in the poker world so far in 2005. Screenshots look really good, anyone with a compatible cell care to give us a review if it works as well as it seems?

I can definitely see this becoming a problem for people while driving.

Have any links to info or screenshots about it?

This is the best I can find now: http://www.realtid.se/ArticlePages/2...mobil_brod.jpg

Really annoying, I know I saw another better screenshot while hopping through the blog entries regarding this, but now I can't remember where I saw it. Oh well...

My phone, my Nokia wa stolen from my desk (those rotten kids ), is not supported by the mobile platform of Pokerroom.com...

It's probably a very good thing that it's not.

I get the feeling many people will be one big suckout away from needing a new phone.

Exactly what I was thinking. But then if this is true, it's a genius business idea by sony.

So I'm sitting on the train (1st Class obviously) and I look down at my phone to see that after my pre flop raise everyone has called my 5*BB raise and I've just flopped a Royal Flush, I decide to slow play a bit, but then the craziest thing ever happens, EVERY player in front of me goes all in for $10,000 each, madness, can't believe this is happening, I scroll down to the Call Button and then just then .......TUNNEL....... lose reception, why is this tunnel so long... disconnected....folded.....arrrghhh...

Now my problem is this. You would only play poker on your mobile when you are not at home, and when you are moving about, their are lots of incidences where you can lose reception, and then bam, you've folded your hand!

Yeah, that is of course a problem (disconnects) but a lot of people have poor connections on their computers as well. Also, where I live the trains have built-in GSM hubs so you don't lose connection in a tunnel...

Also, this is on a phone. God forbid someone might ring you.

heh, I would probably just play the smallest limits for fun, so it wouldn't matter if I disconnected now and then

On that same train trip I'd become an affiliate and look around for really bored people and sign them all up under me. Preferably 9. Then I'd gather them all around me and have us all sit at the same high stakes NL table and just wait around for the last sucker to sit down. Then we'd collude heavily and spend our earnings on beer and enjoy the rest of the trip. Hahaha!

But honestly, poker on a mobile is a great thing. Poker on airplanes would be even better.

have you ever gone through a mouse or a keyboard because of a downswing when you get lots of suckouts and whatnot.

You'd have to be a winning player because I'm sure when your aces get cracked by a random hand rivering you for a pot, the phone could learn how to fly

Haha. That's the real genius of the idea. Phone sales are gonna skyrocket when poker players will keep smashing their phones.

I think I have answered all my questions.

... from what I have researched, the treo 650 is the best that I see.

Has anyone seen a better one? I am looking to use a little Black Jack bonus money to buy one of these bad boys. I have verizon, & it looks like Verizon does not support the Treo yet. I can wait until late may.

Verizon says it will be here soon.

Our Verizon National Accounts rep promises them by the first of May ... by Verizon's record ... maybe Q3.
