Buddy System!
 

anybody ever consider pairing up with someone, and once a week sending a HH for a session to eachother and just bouncing ideas off eachother and then posting the hands that generated the most debate in the forum?

I had this idea last night and was going to ask and see who would be willing to do this with me. If anybody whos thoughts intrigue me on a regular basis was up for it, i'd try once or twice and see what comes of it.

So now i pose the question: any applicants?

I would be, too, but I'm still slumming it in the nickel and dime games. It's probably too different of a game to be helpful for either of us. That, and I suck, so you probably want some else. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I'm always up for a poker discussion (though I don't think my thoughts are of the "intrigue you" variety).

Also, this would be a great idea for a lot of people, as when they have a question about their play of a hand they can refer to their respected buddy instead of creating a new thread here.

Actually, I think this is great for players of the same skill level!

The other thing is that you can "synchronize reading" to an extent so that you can both think about how to apply newly learned information to current hands.

Very cool idea.

What a great idea! Anyone wanna be my buddy? I play .5/1 on party (have 19k hands). Been thinking about moving up, but don't feel quite ready yet.

I'd be interested. I'm pretty busy with school right now (last year of uni), but I can probably contribute 1-2 times a week. I've played about 30K hands of .5/1 and 10K hands of 1/2. PM if anyone's interested.

I currently play the 1/2 at party too, I think about poker all day i'm open for any disussion, better than running hands through my head and talking to myself about them most of the time lol, drop me a line

What an outstanding idea.

It would be great if 2+2 (not that I'm volunteering them) could host a 'bulletin board' or somesuch where people could quickly see a list of who's looking for somebody to partner with (and when they find one the name comes off the list). Or maybe somebody with html skills could do it on their website. I understand this post sort of serves that purpose but pretty quickly one monster thread gets too cumbersome (and dated)...

Secondly, it's far more efficient, from a calorie preservation standpoint, to participate in sport through video games.

i'm game for this, but can't get into it in depth until mid-April (poker is on the back burner right now, sadly).

When I have some sessions written up I'll post them in my other thread "resurrecting the whole session...." to get my ball rolling.
