Is it smart????

I have $232 in Party. Should I just 4 table 1/2 or stay with the .5/1 for now. I run about 4bb/hr, just a little under that. What should I do? And since this post is getting some reads if you have pokertracker see if theduke21111 shows up.. if its recent stats, last month or so im interested in what they are... i dont know how to reset the stats

Uh play as high as possible. Put in like 10 hours at 5/10 and make 400. Then play 10 hours at 10/20 and make another 800 and then goto the 15 game.

How many tables are you playing on $.50/$1? Personally I think your roll is too small for $1/$2 even though you are running well. However, if you think you can beat $1/$2 right off the bat and would be able to re-load if you hit some bad variance early you should be able to achieve 300BB fairly quickly.

If it was me though...I'd wait until my BR was nice and comfy at around $700 before I moved up.

Re: Is it smart???? why the heck

why would i risk a bank roll on such high limits, i only have about 23 bb's at the 10 dollar level, i think 2/4 would even be stupid to play

He's being a little sarcastic because 4BB per hour is widely regarded as unsustainable around here. I'm guessing you're probably on a lucky streak and getting a little too big for your britches...

You should seriously read the FAQ at the top and take your time before you jump right up into $1/$2. It's different enough that you will need to make adjustments.

Edit: 4BB/100 is considered unsustainable, not per hour.

understood, but is that uncommon for 4 tables?

Re: Is it smart???? why the heck

It is possible that he mixed up BB/hr with BB/100 (as I did) when originally reading your post. If you can beat each table for 2BB/100 given say 50 hands per hour, then yes it is possible.

Edit: Nevermind, I was the only one dumb enough to miss that. He explicitly stated in terms of BB/100. His sarcasm was simply due to the fact that you are way underbankrolled for 1/2, as you should have at least $600 for that (300BB)

Re: Is it smart???? why the heck

It's not that much of a stretch I guess. If you liberally assume 240 hands per hour that's about 1.7BB/100. Pretty impressive if you can sustain it.

Like I said, if you're really good enough and you know it, and you can risk the variance until the roll gets up there, go for it. Just be ready to jump back down if you take a big hit early.

edit: hey! I was dumb enough too. A little credit please. And yes, realistically the roll is too low.

Re: Is it smart????

.50/1 -> 1/2 is a hard transition and you don't have the roll to 4-table 1/2. you might be ready though, so maybe mix in 1 table of 1/2, see how it goes.
