TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
Maybe useful for some people out there:
My laptop is 15", so I get overlap when multi tabling. The following made playing 4 tables so much easier. Active Window Tracking I set up a windows account just for poker, and apply these changes only to this account. gambool. |

Works for me:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/18/ If not, go to winguides.com/registry and search for 'active window tracking'. gambool. |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
what is this?
|
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
If you put your mouse over an application window it gives focus to that window (brings it to the front of the screen).
I bet that one dude could 30 table using this app. |

Wow. Just, wow. I owe you a drink if you ever come to Memphis. Actually, I owe you a drink, a hooker, and a line of coke.
Why haven't you computer expert geeks ever posted something like this before? Thanks gambool! -Brian |

Why haven't you computer expert geeks ever posted something like this before? [/ QUOTE ] Well it can get real annoying when you're NOT playing poker, if you're not used to it. If you have a text doc up and you have a habit of clicking to give it focus then moving the pointer away to get it out of the way, that mouse may wind up on some other app that doesn't even accept text and you'll lose what you've typed. It may cost you n more than 5 seconds, but it's frustrating. |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
are these changes permanent once you install the program? or can you just turn it on and off as you please?

Active window tracking is controlled by the existing binary value called "UserPreferencemask" for Windows 95/98/Me or "UserPreferencesMask" for Windows 2000/XP. [/ QUOTE ] I pity da foo' |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap

Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
thanks for all the great advice on this thread. This is great!
I have another question though. When you're playing poker, Is it possible to stop the another poker window from popping up to the top when it's your turn? |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
You can probably do this through TweakUI, but here's the same on Winguides:
Change the Application Focus Settings Enjoy! gambool. |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
this is great. only one question, is there a way to delay it slightly? is that how most have it setup? only reason is that it can be annoying trying to review last hand while playing.

Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
I also just downloaded tweakui--like the other fellow, I have no idea what to do now. Your answer (mouse-->xmouse, or whatever it was) is over my head. Could you elaborate just a little more please? Thanks

[/ QUOTE ] You can also create an additional DWORD value called "ActiveWndTrkTimeout" under [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse] which specifies the time (in milliseconds) that the mouse needs to remain over a window before the window is activated. I have mine set to 500, so the window becomes active 1/2 second after i mouseover it. You could have it longer or less. |

Thanks [/ QUOTE ] I just figured it out. -Open TweakUI From the Start Menu -On the left hand side menu click to Open the expose the menu's under "Mouse" (click the + sign) -Click on X-Mouse -Click in the check windows next to "activation follows mouse" and "autoraise" -Click Apply in the lower left hand corner. It can get a little annoying so I assume you can turn it off this way as well. Greg |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
BTW, Tweak UI / "X-Mouse" is also useful even if you don't overlap since it works around the annoying Party have-to-click-the-button-7-times-to-register bug/feature.
PS: I leave autoraise unchecked. |
Re: TIP: Multi tabling with overlap
