Pics of my home game

Finally took some pics of the new table in use. This was last night's game. I had a big night, up $200 after buying in for $35.

Tell the guy in the gray-blue t-shirt that he has a doppleganger in Cleveland... except for the watch, the resemblence is scary.

"except for the watch". I like that. Ok so that means you have similar glasses then, right?

Assuming the guy in the gray-blue t-shirt that you refer to is the baldhead and not the dread, then that would be me.

Congratulations on your handsomeness.

Cool. White plastic lawn furniture used indoors!

My recommendation- don't use it for long. They tend to break from hard poker use.

Based on the gear worn I can tell ur in a warm client and it doesn't appear to be any big stacks at the at the table...how many chips per player do you start with?

$2k to start, 2 x $500/7 x $100/10 x $25/10 x $5.

Dealer antes $75. It's dealer's choice, and we don't want to be constrained to do one complete round of blinds or antes. Most common game played is HE, then Omaha Hi, O-8, Stud-8. There are a couple of action lovers who go for the wild card games, most notoriously Queens & Follows/Low in the Hole. All games are NL, table stakes.

Sure, anytime you're heading for Jamaica send me a PM

The exchange rate is about J$62 to US$1, which makes it like a $35 buy-in.

PS nolanfan, thanks for the props.

Nice lookin' table. I see you avoided pretty much all of the mistakes I made in my first attempt. Your drink holders don't seem to be getting much use, though.

Nice setup, table and chips look sweet - cool logo.

If the lady on your right shuffles like that you might want to sit across from her... pocket 4's aren't looking very good

Nice looking table. Did you use Junell's plans?? I am in the process of building a table right now that hopefully comes out looking as nice as yours.

Re questions about table - most are answered here. Any more questions, feel free to fire away.

I did use Junell's plans, mostly. And I can only take credit for choosing the colours, and supervising (very closely) the construction. I contracted the work out.

1. The table is sweet!

2. Are those jail bars behind you?

1.1 Thanks!

2.1 Reverse jail bars. One of the consequences of living in a country with the third highest homicide rate in the world is that what are euphemistically called 'burglar-bars' are de rigeur on all doors and windows, and in this case, on my verandah (I think you might know it as a porch).

They may not really make much difference, but they give the feeling of security. And if they weren't there, my wife would not be either.

Whereabouts in Jamaica?? I have been there a few times, most recently the first week of January 2005. Only been around Ocho Rios.

The capital, Kingston. 80 mins or so from Ocho Rios. Do you come for holidays or some other reason?

It's D&G, with the ampersand incorporated in the initials. Stands for Desnoes & Geddes, names of the two founders. Since sold out to Diageo.

But your version is more poetic, so feel free to stick with it

We almost went to the capital last time. My family and a large group of relatives go on a cruise just after Christmas every or every other year. The last 3 times Jamaica has been a port. I really like it there, we always climb the waterfall, and last time we rode horses through the ocean, which was much better than I anticipated and probably my favorite activity from any island.

Oops, I should have said Damn Good...When I visited Jamaica a few years ago, a few of my Jamaican brothers ("no strangers, just friends that never meet") joked with me about that's what the DG stood for.
