Wow, I'd be up against poker players who read and understand basic and advanced concepts and strategies? What about the fish man, what about the fish? *pout*

Yeah, lemme know when. I've already setup my home game schedule for April (16th and 30th) I tried to schedule it around the NE Poker Classic at Foxwoods so I wouldn't conflict. Howsabout yours on the 23rd?

Proposed Dates

Which date works best?

April 23, 1:00 p.m. - this date is best for me, but it is Passover. There's a large Orthodox community in my neighborhood, so if we have the tournament on the 23rd I ask everyone to be respectful.

May 7, 1:00 p.m. - I'll have to check my baseball schedule.

I also have to get clearance from the tower. The Warden is very good about the home games, but it's best to be sure.

I can do either one (haven't setup my May home game schedule, but I could work around yours).

And being only half-jewish, Passover wouldn't be a problem.

I like April 23 best, but only because I think this is a great idea, and I can't wait for it to happen! Plus I don't know what Passover is. I can be quiet though.

How many do you have interest from so far?

Re: Proposed Dates

If need be I can fill the game from my regular homegame list. The buyin is steeper than usual, but I should be able to get 16-18 players. Perhaps we can draw from your game, grandgnu's, etc. in a pinch, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Definately tell Henry about it. I want that Horse's Ass trophy, dammit!

That trophy belongs to ME! I'm definetely going to use it as my card protector from now on.

I'd really enjoy playing against a full cast of 2+2'ers. I think the challenge would be great (and it'd be nice not to get sucked out on by 9/2 offsuit for once...*smirk*)

Yeah I could definitely bring a couple more if necessary. But it looks like you are getting a good amount of interest here, and besides - I play with those chumps every week anyway. I like the idea of a 2+2 challenge. I know Suited_Deuces, 7_2_Offsuit, Ghettorat, and Ghazban are all in the general area as well - they will all probably be interested once (if) they see this.

Re: Payouts?

Alright, you're considering a bounty and such. Let's assume you've got 16 players @ $100 a pop. How about something like this:

1st: $600
2nd: $400
3rd: $300
4th: $200

Bounty Hunter: Player who's eliminated the most other players will take $100 from the prize pool?

Or, to make it more competitive.....

1st: $800
2nd: $400
3rd: $200

Bounty Hunter: $200

No guarantees there! We have a misdeal penalty at my home game where you have to pay the big blind to the pot for a misdeal, but we usually scrap it once the blinds get higher. Sunday night, they made me pay the penalty at a high level, and I was somewhat short-stacked, so I went all-in out of spite with J2o to get my money back. I got called by AKs, and caught a 2 to take it down and double up.

Of course, I wouldn't pull such a stupid move with a bunch of fine players like yourselves...or would I??

It's quiet at work on Sundays, so we play for fun (i.e. no $$$ involved) and this one lady has the most ridiculous luck. If I had her luck and my skill I'd be friggin invincible! *smirk*

Alright, so pre-flop I've got J/J and I raise it up, and she calls me with a 2/4 and the flop is 2/4/2. Yeah, it keeps getting better though.

Later on we're down to four players and I've got the A/J offsuit and I'm 2nd in chips. There's one short-stacked player and the other two are close to my stack. The blinds/antes are pretty high so I push pre-flop and she calls me with 8/4 of diamonds, and another kid (short-stack) calls with A/7 offsuit.

Flop is 2/3/5 and the 6 on the turn seals my fate (there's no 4 coming on the river for a split). I'm still trying my damndest to convince her to come play at my home game, she'll get destroyed.
