Eggs

I had eggs tonight and was very disatisfied with my choice of style. Which is your favorite and why?

Bacon cheese Omellette - Buttery and crispy and oozing cheese - a heart attack on a plate. Im gonna die with a mouthful of this and a big smile.

Over hard with tabasco rocks too.

Technically poached, but I think eggs benedict should also have it's own entry

I don't even know what half of those choices mean.

Scrambled egg butties are badass, though.

Yea, I knew it was poached - is that equivalent to anything in the poll? I'm not so good with my eggs

Pretty sure it's an entirely different style.... Hollandaise sauce is more than just a topping. In the same way, putting cheese and peppers and crap inside an egg turns it into an omelette.

Re: Eggs

I like over-easy. Does anyone else take the yolk from the center and mix it with ketcup and then dip the eggs in it? Sooo good.

Re: Eggs

I always start with the intention of an ommlette, but I usually get frusterated and end up with a scramble.

Eggs bennedict pwnes all else in this poll.

Re: Eggs

Deviled doesn't really belong in this poll. You can't make much of a meal around deviled eggs, they're more of a cookout side food.

Eggs benedict does, in fact, kick ass.

As its listed, omelette is the nuts.

Ham, cheese, onions, green pepper, green onion, sausage, more cheese, and salsa on top of it all.

Re: Eggs

My choices:
1) Poached
2) Eggs Benedict
3) Omelette
4) Scrambled

I'm too lazy to make eggs benedict or omelettes most of the time so it's usually poached at home. If I order eggs for breakfast it's almost always eggs benedict since they're a PITA to make by youself.

I usually put one of these on my poached eggs:

Re: Eggs

I bought an electric counter-top flat grill just to make eggs. I have them sunny side up, and just as the whites start to set I put sliced american cheese on top of all the whites. Bacon on the side.

I eat all the bacon and the cheese and egg whites first, carefully lifting out the yolks, which are partly set on the bottom and runny on the inside.

Then I eat the yolks, one at a time. I eat them whole and break them inside my mouth. OMG it's the [censored] best.

Re: Eggs

Has anyone else tried this? I want to know if I'm crazy or should try to patten this insanely great tasting mix.

AncientPC 02-11-2005 02:05 AM

Re: Eggs

That's too much oil for me all at once, I usually eat breakfast foods with rice but if I'm eating out it's either a few pieces of toast or biscuits and gravy.

I usually wipe up the spilled egg yolk with toast or biscuits.

God I love breakfast, probably my favorite meal of the day.

Re: Eggs

I always order over-medium if its breakfast eggs. Something nice about soft boiled eggs though as well. I also had an egg salad sandwhich about a week ago for the first time in about 12 years, just for the hell of it.

Re: Eggs

Over medium is the correct answer.

Re: Eggs

Omelettes are definately my favorite, but I always always just make them scrambled because its so much easier.

Re: Eggs

I use creole seasoning on my eggs as well. I usually put seasonsing, ham, and cheese in my eggs.

I could eat scrambled eggs every day if I didnt have arteries.

I've had eggs in the Midwest twice. They've sucked hardcore both times. I'm really a sucker for cheap diner eggs though.

Re: Eggs

I hate ordering eggs when eating out though, they charge like $1 per egg (I can buy a dozen with a $1) and give you those tiny ones.

Besides, breakfast is too easy to make.

Scrambled eggs put on a bagel with bacon (or Taylors Porkrolls) and cheese, it's freakin sweet.

Re: Eggs

Scrambled, with ham/bacon bits and onions cooked in it. Then tabasco on top. Or you could make an omlette the same way.

French omelettes are practically scrambled eggs anyway - the middle is still runny.

If your intention is to get a good "flip", when you mix the eggs initially, just add a little water (2 teaspoons) and that's it. Season it when it's set. A wide spatula helps a lot, as well.

Eggs are yummy. Over-medium is WAY better than over-easy and probably my favorite, but fried on a toasted english muffin with bacon and melted cheddar is awesome, and I love a lot of omelettes too. I haven't had devlied eggs in years, but they kick ass. Hard boiled is good in salads.
