Re: Best Internet Poker Book?

Of course SSH is the best internet poker book!
It's the best everything book!
Small stakes stud, omaha, 5 card draw with a joker, razz, everything! Need to learn how to build a house? I recommend Small Stakes Hold'em. Taking care of a new baby? Small Stakes Hold'em is the book for you.

For the next printing, we're getting that girl from Trading Spaces to pose for the cover.

Do you really have this kind of time on your hands?

Re: Best Internet Poker Book?

You probably need a beginners book, so I'll assume that by poker you mean Texas Hold'em.

Either Internet Texas Hold'em by Matthew Hilger or Winning Low Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones. Either of these should get you going and give you a decent grounding in the game.

WLLH is weaker than ITH in basically every way, but easier to read.

For starting out to intermediate, Hilger's Internet Texas Holdem. Beyond that, SSH and HPFAP.

WLLH - grammar school
ITH - high school
SSH - college

all three are important, depending on your starting level. For example, ITH assumes you already know the rules of holdem.

If you use WLLH as the newbie book I'd just pass ITH and buy Middle Limit Hold'em by Ciaffone&Brier as High School.

Re: Best Internet Poker Book?

Thanks for all the replies so far. Ive got alot of experience with mainly NL and PL, but lack the limit and internet limit experience... ive read TOP but havent started SSH, so i think ill read ITH first to see the internet perspective and then read SSH.

It's good, but the bottom could have been so much better if he changed a few words... like crushing to nailing... and games to... yeah. You get it.
