The order is a go! HoldemPokerChips.com has agreed to help me place the order! This will alleviate all the problems with how to order so many with so many participants, and will get our price lower than retail. It'll also allow all members to buy with credit cards and avoid the hassle of escrow accounts and sending cash to me.

In exchange for helping us with the group buy I will be allowing HoldemPokerChips.com to sell more chips at the retail level for a limited time after the presell. This will allow any of us to top-off our sets at any time after this special order. ALL the eight Egyptian designs will be available for everyone to order. MSPatton and I have created a web page to place orders. You can order chips/plaques individually.

Details were written better by MSPatton on the main page of the special presell , so I'll direct you there for more details. Bottom line is that the price will be .85 per chip for a short time, prior to placing the order (on 1/10/2004).

You can email or PM me for any questions, or ask your questions here in this thread. MSPatton has also told me to offer him up for any questions about orders too.

205/.25, 20/oct and 20 plaques! I'm all set. Can't wait. Dang, I shopped the other chips on that site and are we ever getting a deal! Jeeze what a nice deal. Ya'll dogs that are on the fence about this set better make up your minds soon. It rocks, everyone loves it that plays at my games.

Hey Patton, how do you ship those octogons and plaques? Do you have a special rack for them? I should have asked before I ordered, so if I need to get 50 plaques to fit in a tray, etc.

I'm starting to think about this again too. I think I'll buy another 750 chip mahogony box, but save a lot of space in it for the octagons and plaques. The plaques fit nicely in card slots, and the octagons... hmmm... I could have a wood-worker friend of mine make a new top tray that holds them. He makes high quality furniture, I'm sure he could handle that. The 25¢ chips could fill the bottom slots (below the tray).

Hey Ten,
I remember you posting that the plagues fit in the card slots of a case. Do you know how many will fit in each slot? I'm trying to figure out what kind of set to order. I don't really need the oct's or plagues but I just can't resist getting some of each. I bought 600 Nevada Jacks last month, didn't expect these to be available so soon. Also the pricing came in quite a bit under what I was expecting. Great job on working that out. I'll be placing my order soon. Just have to decide on the configuration.

I do not know how these will be shipped. Maybe in a padded mailer.
The Octagons are 1.732" wide. This should allow two stacks in a card
slot in a case. My only option at this time.
These should be available to ship about Feb 14th. I will have
a closer date once we have paid for an order

Fitting in cases: Some slots may have 44mm to hold the octagons. If not, they can sit a little slanted and fit? Or we can research cases that have wide enough slots. For the plaques: They'll fit in card deck slots! Almost all cases have card slots. I already measured my mahogony cases and I can fit 28 plaques in the cards slots. I dont travel with them, so it's not problem. (I just measured one of my cheap aluminum cases and I can get 18+ in there too)

Kidding aside, do you plan on making a $25K plaque? I was in the original order and am more than happy with the set I have now. I'll probably order a small number of the new additions just to complete the set but, if there's yet another one in the works, I'd just as soon wait and order the 25c, 1K, and 5K chips with the 25K. It doesn't make much sense to pay shipping twice on two small collections of chips if I can just do it once.

This may be a silly question but what are the octagons and plaques for?

BTW I did order a few samples as I was browsing your link. I'm in the process of getting several samples so when I saw these were available by each I had to grab some.

Cool. I was just noticing its only been a couple months since I received my original order (October) so, if more designs were only another 2 months away, I'd just wait on that. Now I just need to figure out how many of the new designs I want....

I have my own Chipco's but had to order a "sample" set of these. It would be nice if someone could make a custom frame to mount them in. These would go excellent on my poker room wall!

Doesn't matter. I have two 500ct sets. One just white and red, the other, white, red, green, black, and maybe some purple. Don't know, bought them in a rush when we started our home game cause I was the only one who would front the money.

This was well before the chip pricing wars began, paid something rediculous like 200 or so bucks for the damn things. "Clay" suited they were called. [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

At any rate, just moved, finding new players, time for a new image at the home game. Got the nice table....waiting (which is killing me) for the nice chips now.

I'm stuck with what you see. They are allowing only two spots on my plaque and octagon for security reasons. Apparently they don't allow plaques and octagons for home sets (I'm lucky I got these approved). And that allows me no leverage for edges. They "threw me a bone" by allowing the octagon edges to now have more than one color.

My "riffle" chips are not showing any wear, and certainly not the bulk of the others. My wife can attest to the 1000's of times I've shuffled these chips.

Mine are mostly NOT broken in. A few of the $1's are smooth now. Chipcos have a slight texture to them NIB. Very minute texture that rubs off w/use and they get smooth like ceramic or polished glass. Very cool. Home games are very easy on chips, IMO. I worry more about getting them broken in before I die, than I do about them wearing out. THey are very tough. Casinos wouldn't invest in them if they didn't last. I saw some (chipco's) in vegas that were almost white from use. Most of the original logo was gone. They looked like crap. Cheap ass casino! haha. Those suckers must never leave the blackjack tables.
