Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
Just pick your favorite. I won't taint the vote with my discussion yet.

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I like 9, 7, and 1 in that order (voted for 9). I like the sides on 9, the details on 7 and 1. The design on 9 looks like it would work well on a poker chip since it is mostly rounded.

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I chose 5 because the graphic was good and might work on a light blue background. I like the looks of 3 but not the pic. 3 might work if the design was done up in software (like traced over)... I like the sharp edges that come out at you. I think 2 & 6 are too round and look to modern.
9's ok but it looks like it'd need to be drawn up in software too as opposed to using the pic. - Fins |
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I was 4 with 9 being a close 2nd. 9 might be too busy. Will take some work to get it to fit.
(potentially relating to 'fit' but otherwise OT sorry) On the disc design (frisbees) I made about 12 'finalists' before cutting down to the 8 we used as our division graphics. I had to cut some photorealistic graphics that I really liked because they didn't fit in with the larger set. It may be that you work 9 into something that is good but won't fit in well in the balance of the set. That's the tricky part (to my thinking) as an (ungifted) amateur. Amaterasu (Japan) Athena BRID (Celtic) Freyja (Norse) Evaki (Bakiri) HATHOR (Egyptian) Ixchel YHI Like I said: ungifted amateur - but we had fun doing the 900 shirts and discs featuring the division logos. |
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I think #2 fits best with the set.

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I think when it comes to design, the old theory of K.I.S.S. would work best here. 1, 4 and 7 are a little to ornate. The last one is intricate, but not overly done...
Your other chips are spectacular, btw. C. |
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
9 does it for me,and would look well with the other chips.IMO

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I voted for #2, but also like #9 alot.
I think K.I.S.S. needs to dominate this chips, though. That's why I voted for #2. But whichever style is chosen, I'd like to see it rendered as a line drawing, not a photo. A simple line drawing of #9's design could be pretty cool. |

(assume that the chosen image would be cleaned up first, unwanted background elements removed, any silver made gold, etc.) [/ QUOTE ] Hmmm... how about going the other way --- change any gold into silver. This would distinquish it from the other chips more (esp the $25 chip). This is a cheap chip, after all... |
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
voted for #2, but #7 is a close 2nd if you want something a little more detail.
while I have no funds or homegame for that matter to buy chips, its cool to watch the somewhat collaborative effort unfold. keep up the good work Ten. |

And Egyptians didnt work much (at all?) with silver... Ten |

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
#2 just jumped out at me immediately as a perfect fit for your set.

When you make the call on which way to go, it would be good to see the proposed $.25 chip next to the existing ones, just to get a better look at how it will blend with the set. Ten, thanks for the opportunity to kibitz on these designs. (I hope I'm not being too much of a PITA, but you do seem to be soliciting ideas and opinions.) After seeing how you've handled these threads, and the threads for the original chips, I'm supremely confident in your judgment and ability to make these new chips worthy additions to the set. -- And I expect to back up that confidence with $$ for a purchase. Thanks |

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I like the shape of 5 (voted for it) the best but I feel it should be gold. It will compliment the blue nicely.

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I think #3 would look great on a blue chip, and #2 would be my second choice. I don't like #9 as much as everyone else seems to.

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
How about a picture of Egypt now, like the Sphinx after its aged. Or of course you can just take a picture of the barren wasteland that is now Egypt after enslaving the Jews

Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
Number 2. It's nice and simple, the way a .25 chip should be.
|
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
I like #1 and think it goes with the rest of the chips already made better.
|
Re: Help me choose an Ankh for my 25¢ chip...
#2 - Simple, elegant.
