Put all your bad beats, boasts and bets concerning tonight's $30+1 Pot Limit Hold'em event here. Tonight is the last event of the year before the championship on the 15th. Right now VinnyTheFish is looking to finish the year strongly and has a slight 35 pt lead over me. Sheriff Fatman and Kurn are another 135 pts or so behind Vinny. For full leaderboard see the official KotZ site.

Remember, we also have a trophy pledge drive going on as well. I almost have the funds sufficient to buy the nicest trophy I mention in that thread. This is a sweet prize to have in addition to the bragging rights for the year.

I will be there as per usual. Being a few hundred points out of 1st, I suspect I need a top finish here and another good finish in the final.

Ed, can you let me know my bottom 2 point totals that are currently are counting?

You're worst two scores being counted are a 30.2 (KotZ 7) and a 41.5 (KotZ 12).

BOUNTY: $10 on EmarkM if you knock him out while I am still playing .. double it to $20 if I can last at least 5 places better than him. (i.e. He goes out 12, I must be 7th or better).

You must tell me that you knocked him during the tourn, or via PM.

I will offer the reverse of Vinny's bounty. Knock out Vinny before me = $10. If I last five places better than he does, double it. As with Vinny, you have to tell me you did it.

Geez...now it's on the 3rd page.

I'm in.

Didn't get to play as many of these this year as I would have liked (I wanted to play them all).
Still, I'm looking for my 4th money finish of the year.

I have 2 money-finishes in Hi/Lo and am looking for that to be an officially recognized category.

Also just realized - I have money-finishes in Hold-em, Omaha and Stud (the last two were both O/8 and were also both completely accidental...I PROMISE).

Doubt there are many who have made the money in all 3:
HE, OMA and STUD.

Unfortunately, none of these were KOTZ victories (4th in HE, 2nd in O/8, 5th in Stud/8).

Glad that emark got enough for the big trophy.
Took me awhile but I finally got around to pitching in my $10...and obviously several others did as well.
C'mon gang...help him save on shipping, etc. If he gets a little left-over that's fine by me as I think he deserves at least a little bit just for taking the time to organize this whole thing.


Back to embarass myself at PL in a few hours.

Not only did I bump this when it got to page-3...I also x-posted an invite over in the MTT forum trying to get a player or two who may not have heard of the existence of KOTZ (we have a lot of newer folks these days....and we just haven't been conversing about KOTZ as much either).

In the interest of retaining your lead, you probably want to discourage participation. The lower the turnout, the fewer points those of us behind you can possibly get to catch you.

I already got AQs, TT flops quads (vs. QQ), and then steal the blind with JJ.

Up to 2990 and trailing only David Ross.

On the quad-T's hand the turn was an A so I bet modestly hoping to get re-raised by the PF-raiser if he had AK or AQ (even though there were a couple T's on the board I still had hopes).
But since he had QQ he laid it down.
Myrtle commented that I probably should have checked....since I suck as a tourney player I'll defer to ANYONE's opinion....but since it was re-raised before the flop I thought the chances of him coming over the top of me with AK were reasonable.
But a check probably would have drawn the bet that I wanted here.
Oh well.


Blinded down to 2970....I'm now tied with David for chip-lead. Whoopeee!!!

Down under 1k, scratched back up (thanks to a lucky flop v CrackerZack's 88 that helped my AK), then ran into AA (CZ again). Gave away 1/2 my remaining stack betting into a flopped set (I hear this is a bad idea). 14/18 at the break. Bleah.

Probably because I'm not playing. I played the Stud/8, and the turnout number was probably high because of it. Just look at my KOTZ ranking and you'll see why.

Out 11th after staying near the top the whole time and playing pretty good IMO.

Got delt AA, eMark makes it 450 to go, I raise to 1200, he folds, I show.

Very next hand, delt AA, eMark makes it 450 to go, I raise 1200, he calls flop comes x99, I bet pot putting him allin, he calls and has TT, I think I am golden, then the river [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]

TILT is setting in.

Two hands later in the BB delt 22, everyone folds to davidross he raises to 450, and I decide he isn't taking advantage of me now that my stack is short, pot it(leaves me with like 300) he raise to get me in I figured I am cooked, call he shows me 44....thank you drive through.

out 5th. Slowplayed my AA set all the way to teh river and made the mistake of rasing Microbobs bet all-in. He had teh rivered straight and I could have saved my few chips for an enormous comeback.

Looks like eM's sititng nicely for the final tourney. Better drum up as many as possible to make it a big one.

Lost with AK vs. his AQ.

Earlier I had A8 on board of 86Tx or something....David had 87.
We go all-in and he catches the 9 on the river for the straight (something like that anyway).


Oh well....it's not like I didn't have my own fair-share of ridiculous suck-outs....because I did.
