Low Limit in Vegas

What are the best places to play low limit in Vegas? 3/6, 4/8. Non smoking would be nice as well.

Excalibur had the best cardroom from what I saw. Mostly spread games 1-3, 2-6, NL, Stud, and an occasional 4/8 holdem.

Two great incentives: If you lose w/ pocket AA, you get to spin a prize wheel and win 20-300$. median 40.

Also, if you get quads or higher, you get to spin the wheel also, and both of your hole cards don't need to play.

Play is pretty soft.

Another good option is the Palms, where they have 2-4 games and higher that are very soft.

I would have to recommend at least visiting the Mirage (3-6) and the Bellagio (4-8). Best dealers, nicest rooms, and lots of rich tourists with money to burn.

on the strip excalibur is fun with the spread games, i played some 1-3 and 2-6, its nice when theres so many loose players there that call everything, but if i remember correctly the rake was a little high...

3/6 at Mirage and 4/8 at Mandalay Bay was best I found a couple weeks ago at those limits. Played at 10 card rooms and will only play at these two rooms in future trips.

Mandalay Bay and The Monte Carlo are much better than The Bellagio and The Mirage for low limit games.

Just returned from Vegas and the best place I played was Sam's Town, hands down. No newbies or calling stations there waiting to river you, strictly locals. The dealers were the nicest I've ever seen and the 4-8 game was pretty tight. If you know how to play, it's the place to go.

Thanks for the tip, I'm definitely there next time I'm in town! I just hate when those clueless n00bs keep sucking out on me, now I can finally get my money in when other people have the goods!

Agree with you on Belagio. wouldn't wait long time needed to get a seat and even though reports say it is easy to make a profit there from the wealthy people playing there that don't know how to play very well, just something about the room just doesn't appeal to me. You couldn't pay me to play at the Monte Carlo again. Always a pleasurable and profitable experience at the Mirage 3/6 tables.

Excalibur, Monte Carlo and Mandalay Bay.

The Palms is very smokey, and many don't care
for the place, but I've always had a great time
there. BTW, the Monte Carlo has a microbrewery
so tasty brews are available in the cardroom.

To further define this question, are CW's a factor?

No, I'm not kidding. I played at the Mirage and had to wait a freakin hour for a table, got sucked out at the Nugget all night long, the Plaza was ok but only had 1/2 tables, Binion's was full of teenagers so I didn't even bother. Sam's town was perfect. That and the 4 Queens Poker Classic which was so easy I could have played it in my sleep. After 4 hours and a nice chip lead I had to quit because my crying, baby husband wanted to go home after he busted out in the 1st ten minutes. That totally sucked. Next time he's on his own.

just because you took some bad beats does not mean it was a bad game. just think about if it had gone your way and you walked away with a huge win. you'd probably be singing another tune.

i think most people here consider a game full of loose callers a good game.

sucks about the tourney, you should have told him to take a walk.

Played a lot at Bally's new room last week and it was surprisingly good. Mostly 2-4 with 1 4-8 game and 1 NL 1-2 game. Lots of calling stations and a low rake (10% with a $3.50 cap). I also like Mirage's 3-6 games.

I just got back from vegas and stayed/played at the golden nugget. Very soft, good 4/8 game. They also have 2/4, 10/20 and 1/2 NL.

Re: Low Limit in Vegas

You can play 4/8 everywhere, including Bellagio. Binion's has 2/4. I am not sure who is running 3/6 these days.

Last night at Mandelay

Played at Mandelay last night for about 10 hours at the 4/8. Not one chopped blind, not once capped preflop and 6-8 seeing the flop every time. Lots of loose-passive calling stations who don't raise without the nuts. This was the quintessential good game. So what happened? I played like crap, tried to bluff the unbluffable and finished the night up a pathetic $11. So many players bought in, busted out, rebought, busted out again, that the table was piled with their chips, all of which sat in the stacks of three complete Magoos at the other end of the table who kept stumbling backward into backdoor flushes and gutshots (plus calling down my missed AK with me pressing to the river, with a board of QJ538 and having called two cold holding T3o).

Do rich tourists burn alot of money in 3-6 and 4-8?

Milo ...

Can't wait. Two days and counting. Anything more firm on the proposed game Wednesday at Excalibur?

Are you sure the Magoos weren't just calling you down with good pot odds/implied odds?

Whenever I'm in Vegas, I like to spend at least one session at Mandalay. Usually a great game. Try it drunk sometime!

Re: Low Limit in Vegas

Played most the low limit venues in Vegas (specifically most that spread 2-4) and found that the Monte Carlo was the most pleasurable experience. Steer clear of the one or two locals, but other than those guys, lots of soft tourists with some cash. I love to see the guys who buy in for $25 because they don't know any better and contiue to rebuy until the wife calls them to dinner.
Only downside... ugly cocktail waitresses.

Re: Low Limit in Vegas

I'm surprised no one mentioned the Flamingo for loose low-limit action. One example :

I'm UTG in the 4/8 game and find myself with red aces. I raise, knowing full-well that I'll get at least 4 callers, even though I haven't raised in the last 20 hands. Not only do I get called, I get re-raised and re-re-raised and there are 3 more callers, one of them cold calling a 4 bet. By the time it gets around to me, I get the chance to cap it (at 5 bets, rather than 4) and everyone calls, so there's already 30 small bets in the pot before the flop.

Flop comes 7-8-9 (a little scary, since there's probably a 10 out there) and I bet and get 3 callers. Another seven on the turn, I bet again and get 1 caller (who had cold-called a 3 bet). A 10 on the river - I check, the other guy bets and I call. He shows J 10.

Some people might have gone on tilt at that point, but I was up about 12 BB before that hand, so I was able to laugh it off. I had to go over and shake the guy's hand, even though I had just lost one of the biggest pots of the weekend. Oh... and I caught the same red aces about 15 hands later and they held up, albeit with a much smaller pot due to a 3rd ace on the flop.

So, no 2+2er plays at Circus Circus, eh?

Maybe that's why when I was there in March, I found the best game I've ever played in, featuring such characters as River Man, the Human ATM, and Pot Odds.

The room was disgusting but the game was friendly and fantastic - the BB jackpot was HUGE and yet there was only a small wait for a table. $3-6 with a single $3 blind. Heavy smoking encouraged.

I also found the Mirage $6-12 to be good, but I understand it's game-by-game, hit-or-miss, based on other posts here.

Mirage $3-6 and Excalibur games previously recommended here are solid referrals.

Check out CC, I guess, if you find yourself way up north for some reason.
