Getting Slowrolled
When someone hesistates along time to call your all-in with the nuts do you get pissed? Or just say "nh"?
|
Re: Getting Slowrolled
The last two party sitngo's I've played in now someone has slowrolled me before calling my all-in with the nuts. That place is ridiculous. It's full of horrible players that are also assholes.
|
Re: Getting Slowrolled
And when I ask what is up with the slowrolling another player says "slowroll? what are you talking about that was an incredible call". Sarcasm? Complete stupidity? Who knows on Party.
Alright, now they are telling me that KQ isn't the nuts on an AJT rainbow board. This is just absurd. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
did it ever occur they were making sure they had the nuts? just a thought..

did it ever occur they were making sure they had the nuts? just a thought.. [/ QUOTE ] In the first case the guy had a low nut straight and I considered it. But in the 2nd case he had KQ and an AJT board. Nope, he is just being an [censored]. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
was there a flush threat? ive never had someone do that to me..

Re: Getting Slowrolled

was there a flush threat? [/ QUOTE ] There was 2 to a flush out. But come on, this guy isn't Phil Helmuth. He is just a shitty party poker player. We can try to find alot of excuses but the fact is he decided to wait along time to call in order to build my hopes up and then crash them down. That is why he hesitated. Not to decipher if KQ is the nuts on a AJT board. Not to consider folding to a 4 flush. Oh and you've never had someone slowroll you? How long have you been playing? I only recall it happening to me 3 times, and 2 of those being in the last hour, ridiculous. It really pisses me off. Plus I'm going all-in when I do it, in a tournament. It's not like there is an advantage to making me tilt after I'm knocked out of the tournament. It's just human cruelty. Really it's just someone trying to make you feel bad. It's sad that so many people in the world are still like this. And 90% of people are online. Politeness is just a veil in real life, you can see people's true colors online where 90% of people are just trying to make everyone else upset. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
I see your point now..

Re: Getting Slowrolled
Erostatus,
If you are complaining about being slowrolled... Well thats rediculous. What if he was playing 2-8 tables? What if he wanted to double check that he had the best hand possible? Oh wait, who cares about getting slow rolled in an online game? Jeebus. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
I understand what he means. There are cases where its by accident but there are cases where they do it on purpose.
I admit it does piss me off, and I normaly say something about it. Once a guy had quad aces and waited for the 10 second counter to call my all in on the river. (I had a full house) He did it on purpose to be an ass, and everyone at the table knew it. I said something like "The next time you know you are going to call dont waste everyones time, You're not on TV" People do this on purpose live to put poeple on tilt, and its a dirty tactic that works. Its insanely rude and pointless to do it online in a SnG especially when its going to knock you out(so tilt doesnt matter because they wont have to play against you anymore) Erostatus you are entitled to post anything you want, and everyone is welcome to their "bitch post". but almost all of your posts involve a gripe of some sort. This is why you get these kind of responses. Try to post some serious hands that you honestly want to know about how to play. Try asking questions that affect your actual game play rather then what everyone else does. Im not trying to be mean here, I am trying to give you sound advice. I have had my fair share of whine posts. They feel good sometimes on a personal level to let loose and vent. You can even do it in a comical way, but oh lordy lordy please stop bitching so much. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
I accidentally slowrolled someone in a live game because he tabled his top two pair and for about 10 seconds i thought it beat my trips. I felt bad and apologized.

Re: Getting Slowrolled
ive slowrolled people by accident a few times now. multitabling or surfing whilst playing (yes, bad Phill) have contributed.
ive also been told im slowrolling when deciding how to play certain hands for maximum damage. eg, once, three handed, i could of folded to an almost certain second, but i had a chance to double through on the bullets. it was almost the first time ive folded them. they accused me of slowrolling. i told them what i tell everyone who gets pissed at peoples slowness. its 30 seconds. someone slowrolls you, so what. forget it and move on. and in your case, they werent nessacerally doing so. i once had to wait and easy 4 minutes whilst playing omaha, as one of my friends tried to work out if his ace high straight was truly the nuts on the river, or i had him beat somehow. sometimes people need a little time. we all get brain freezes. now people who constantly type zzzzz when someone times out. that i hate. what, do you guys really think theyll reconnect suddenly just cos you show you cant wait for 30 seconds????? but thats another story. Re: Getting Slowrolled
I think it's read dependent. Guessing that after more than a few hands at your table I would do it also.

When someone hesistates along time to call your all-in with the nuts do you get pissed? Or just say "nh"? [/ QUOTE ] Why can't you get pissed AND say "nh"? Anyway, everytime you get pissed at a table, it means you are losing, or about to lose, some money, at this table, at another table you're playing at the same time, or at the next game. So I woudn't look for reasons to get pissed. If someone decides, knowingly, to slowroll his call with the nuts for 15 more seconds, he's an idiot, and I wouldn't care too much about it. It's not that these 15 seconds really mean anything. Why bother even thinking about it. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
Ok first of all KQ is the nuts on an AJT rainbow flop, however it is vulnerable. I have had two occasions recently where I have had the nut straight and been sucked out on for all my chips. One I had JQ and flopped AKT ,the guy went all-in which I called of course, he flipped up AJ and hit runner J's to bust me. The second time I went all-in(trying to protect my hand)got called by a K9d and he hit running diamonds. Ever since then I'm not so willing to risk all my chips with a straight even if it is the nuts on the flop. I'm not saying I don't call the bet but I might be a little hesitant.

Not calling with the nuts because someone might suck out is pretty weak dont ya think? What do you do without the nuts? Why hesitate at all if you are going to call? Not calling is absurd. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
Wow,
I think I will start slow rolling people as it sure seems to bother some of you. Jason is right who cares, get over it, if you beat him next hand, slow roll back. If this irritates you that much you have a leak in your game, IMO. |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
people who do that are going to get a bullseye on their head. Then people will go out of their way to bust you. Just call and flip your cards over like your played before in your life. People who do this end up getting nailed later on.

Re: Getting Slowrolled
you miss my point. and FWIW i don't slow roll.
I just think it's hilarious how tense some of you get on the subject. It's a sign of a huge leak. Should be like water off a duck |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
What is the advantage of slowrolling then? Tell me that one. Just show your hand and take your chips.
|
Re: Getting Slowrolled
you miss my point again. I wasn't arguing that slow rolling was an advantage. Just that letting it put you on tilt (or in target mode) is not only a disadvantage but plain silly - and a huge leak.
I didn't even slow roll you and you seem a little upset. regards |
Re: Getting Slowrolled
Getting slow rolled? That reminds me of when they poured flour on the flour and rolled me until they found the wet spot.
|
Re: Getting Slowrolled
I said that I "DO" make the call, but I don't jump out of my chair just because I flop a straight. A nut straight on the flop is only the nuts until the next card comes out. But not calling with it would be very weak I agree. To answer your other question ,when I don't have the nuts I make my standard pot-size bet if I think I hold the best hand. If I don't believe I have the best hand I fold. Please tell me how weak-tight you believe that is.
|
Re: Getting Slowrolled
Maybe they slow rolled you because they know how annoying you are. I would do it to you. But probably not to anyone else, so to answer your question, yeah I would get pissed, but not pissed enough to post about it though.
