Sunday Party $200+15 thread

I'm playing in both the Party and PokerStars 4:30 EST $200+15 tournaments. Kind of enjoyed the 'ongoing updates' that people have been doing of late, so I'll try to pop over on the breaks and let people know how I'm doing, and perhaps others will do likewise.

I'm making seperate threads for the two tournaments because otherwise it will just get confusing.

Good luck to all who are playing!

Chris

Whiner at the table (philivey2323) is really giving it to some guy who called all in with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on a T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] board and caught the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the river.

The whole table is really beating this whiner down it's great.

My AKo lost to A5 with a miracle 5 on the river. Down to 300 in chips.

Gah, I was the chip leader at my table with around 2000. I get dealt AA, raise to 3.5X the BB, and get one caller. Flop comes down K 4 7, guy bets, I just call. Turn comes a 5, he bets, I raise, he thinks and goes all in for about 400 more. I call, and he turns over K5 . Down to 300 chips

T675 and falling fast. I've had exactly one playable hand (AA) and received no action. Not one flop has fit my hand yet (including hands I've mucked). Yuck!

1225 at first break. Was down to 500 or so but the cards helped me get back in it. Long grind...

Re: Sunday Party $200+15 thread

1690 at the break. Only hands I've played beyond the flop have been from the BB. Flopped a straight with T9o and top 2 with 83s.

cferejohn 07-18-2004 05:33 PM

1st break - T700

Got some chips (up to about T1600) early when a couple players underbet me into calling with draws and I hit. Dropped to ~1000 when I got 2 smaller stacks all in w/QQ; they had AQ and AK. AK hit a flush on the river. AQ had more chips to start with though so I came out OK. Lost a chunk of chips on a preflop re-raise bluff of a minraise from an aggressive player when he came over the top (I had KTo, but it didn't really matter, I just thought he didn't have much of a hand and would lay it down).

Gotta double up soon. GL all...

I'm out. Didn't enjoy seeing the result here, losing to an ace would be a lot easier to take. Got my money in in a good position I guess, but it would have been nice to take the 3500 in the pot and have something to play with.

Re: Sunday Party $200+15 thread

Done. Raised A6o on the button at the 75/150 level. Called by the BB. Flopped 578 for an open ender plus an overcard. Bet 700 (out of T2000) into a pot of ~850. BB raised all in for my last 1300 chips. I figure I have to call here getting ~2.75:1 (1300 into a pot of 3500), as I'm pretty damn sure he has a PP and I have 11 outs. He has 99, so it's really 9 outs (end even slightly uglier than that since if i do hit a 9 he has outs to win or chop. I don't catch and I'm done.

I think I should have tried to check-raise that flop all-in. I'm not sure it would have done me any good, but I'd rather be the pusher than the caller with a draw.

Gl to the others!

Chris

Still Alive

But seriously short-stacked, 3800 with 210 left.

A lot of KJo type hands in EP that I'm letting go, but will very soon start raising.

I coast and coast and then double up once in a while.

whew! Made it into the money, but I'm pretty shortstacked at only 6600 with the average being around 12000. I'll keep giving updates.

Re: Sunday Party $200+15 thread

Just made a huge score! KK in EP/MP. I've got 6600 and blinds are 750/1500. I reaise to 4000. LP calls and BB calls. Flop comes Q-9-2 with all diamonds. I have the Kd. I bet all in for 2000 more. LP calls with A-9(????) and no diamonds, BB folds. I take it down with a diamond on the turn. I'm up over 17000 now!

I saw that happen man, that was rough. You were drawing dead on the turn, since any king gave him the straight (which happened). Sucks, but well done anyway!

Re: Sunday Party $200+15 thread

I was actually chearing when the K came, only to realise 1) you were drawing dead 2) I'm too tired to read the board.

That really sucked..

What the hell am I talking about? He wasn't drawing dead, because any Jack would give HIM the straight. My bad.
