Hey guys, did I play this hand right?

So I was in the WSOP and I had a pair of queens on the river, and the board was J22KQ and my opponent bet T16000! Do I call or fold?

Seriously, who else thinks that the time the WSOP wastes on all those little "nuts" segments and the visual abortion known as "hold 'em or fold 'em" could be used to show us at least 3-4 more hands of real poker? I got pretty sick of all the utterly ridiculous examples they give us to try to make sense of. The lack of information they give us is ridiculous. I know they're not trying to make it so that only poker gurus can figure it out, but they could at LEAST give us:

How aggressive they are.
How big the pot is.
What the action has been.

Do you think with all the internet whining this season that they will attempt to shape up? Or are the ratings just too good right now?

The hold'em or fold'em segments are 30 second commercials. Not enough time for a detailed recap of the hand and players. Also, the less in-depth poker analysis the casual player is exposed to on ESPN, the more profitable I expect MY sessions to be. So let them think that hold'em or fold'em is as tough as it gets.

On a side note, I heard John Smoltz interviewed on TV during the NLDS. John Smoltz's voice kinda sounds like Chris Ferguson's. John Smoltz should sit in a fridge and discuss baseball. That is all.

If they had a PPV version of all televised WSOP events with comments from Howard Lederer or Phil Ivey and others, would you pay $29.95 per 4 hour commercial free semi-edited episode?

if they only edited out the hands which were donkably playable, such as people folding to the BB. And it depends on the commentary. If someone popped out even one ex-wife joke, I would strangle the guy who sold it to me.

Dude, don't you understand? This is like saying, "Seriously, if they cut all the ads out of everything, there'd be so much more content in my programs." Unfortunately, basic cable and network television relies on ads to pay the bills. The stupid hold 'em or fold 'em segment is just a paid advertisement for Milwaukee's Best.

I'm tired of them showing "hands in progress" when they get back from the break and some poor schmoe who probably organized a party to watch his appearance on tv is eliminated

This is what I read about the "Fold-em" hand between Duke and Kaplan. On ESPN it shows the flop (small pair and a king). Duke checks with pocket jacks and Kaplan bets, Hold-em or fold-em? Ferguson says fold-em and Duke does. Kaplan has AK.

Here's how the hand really came down. Duke raises pre flop from middle position and gets a call from the guy on her left. Kaplan on the button re-raises. The small and big blind fold, and then Duke re-raises. The guy folds and Kaplan re-raises again. Duke calls. Four raises before the flop. On the flop she checks, he bets and she folds. If this is indeed how it happened? Then they didn't leave out tooo much, did they?

By the way, I would have called on the flop; if I don’t spike a jack and he bets on the turn then I fold.

I like Chris in the refrigerator, but I'm easily amused.

Hold em or fold em is a pretty basic exercise in board reading and knowing what most opponents would do so not that interesting. Still, it's cool to be quizzed a bit and see how you do in a commercial. Usually, they're just trying to sell me some crap I don't want with some lame jingle and by aspiring to concerns I don't have.

I'm also amused by the guy finding some paper thin excuse to go to the fridge.

As for internet whining, why would they care? They respond to ratings or the letters of enraged lunatics they perceive as having some power (the I'm so offended people...).

I wish, just to make a final table at the wsop would be a poker dream.
