Theory of Nolimit Holdem
Sklansky and Miller have a new book coming out which is supposed to be a nolimit holdem version of TOP. Does anyone know if it has the exact same table of contents as TOP except that everything is about NLH?
For example, is the chapter entitled "Beyond Beginning Poker" retitled "Beyond Beginning NLH"? |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
No, the table of contents won't be identical or even close to it. The book is like TOP in that it's a theoretical treatment of the topic, not in layout.

Ed,
All I care about, will the book make me a better NL player? |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
i really dont see how you can have a theory of NL thats different than the theory of poker in general...
maybe the brunson quote comes to mind, the key blah blah is putting a man to a decision for all his chips or whatever |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
From what I've seen here recently HOH3 is due out fairly soon. Is there an expected release date for David and Ed's new book???
Looks like 2006 might be the year for me to start learning No Limit |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
I imagine most of it is on how implied odds affect what hands to properly play. How to maximize wins, play different stack sizes, table conditions, player types.

Hi House:
We're expecting to release both books around the end of April. But there is flexibility with that date. Best wishes, Mason |

Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
No. Somewhat later.

Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
This is a very long and frustrating wait. As a Christmas gift, can you share with us the titles of the first 7 chapters?
How many pages? Are there quizzes in the back? |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
And what about Fossilman? Does he still have plans to write his Two Plus Two NL book? Christmas 2006 for that?

Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
wish it was earlier, i could use the help.

[/ QUOTE ] I'm sorry this wait has been frustrating. To be honest, this project has been more difficult for me than SSH and GSIH were. It's a very different kind of book, and I've had to reorient my brain a little bit to make it work. In June when I planned to get started, I didn't anticipate all the hangups and delays, and I was overoptimistic for how fast David and I could finish it. David and I are rolling now, though, and I expect to have it done in a few months. As for specifics, we don't want to release that info until shortly before the book is ready. Anything we released now could easily be changed by the time the book comes out. Thanks for bearing with me. |
Re: Theory of Nolimit Holdem
ed if you need advice with the book why not get ray zee in on it? or some of the best NL posters from the site? some high count posters are "overrated" but many are at the highest level
