Foxwoods Casino

I am only 20 and I would like to play poker in Foxwoods. Has anyone ever gone in ther underage and gotten through? Do they even check? Is there any place you know that you dont have to be 21 or you can get in because they dont check?

If theres ONE casino that checks more ID than any other....its Foxwoods....sorry

Not only will they check your ID at any table if you sit down and look anything close to even 25, they also have security checking people usually around the entrances to most gaming areas as well.....

If you are underage...........

You better be a guy who can grow a thick beard and be balding because they will ID you everytime. I was 30 (a young looking 30) and they checked my ID everytime unless I bothered to grow a beard.......

I've never been ID'd there, which is odd, because I was ID'd two days ago buying cigarettes and have always looked young. I've only played there about 10 times though so maybe my sample size is small.

Whenever I go to Foxwoods with my wife, she always gets carded. She's 27 years old. They are very strict. If you want under 21 poker, I've heard Turning Stone in NY is 18 and up because the universities are so close to the casino. It is about 3 1/2 hours from Hartford, and a fair poker room.

I wasn't carded there either, though I was asked the other day by a cashier at Blockbuster if I was 17 or older when I attempted to take out a rated R movie. BTW, I'm 23 and certainly could not pass for 16!

I doubt I would pass for 18 and I played at Foxwoods a few times without getting carded. You only really have to get by the door guards in the teal jackets. One time I was asked if I was 21 and I simply replied yes without showing ID and had no problem. And if one stops you, say you're lost and go to the next entrance. Interestingly, the waitresses will card you at the table if you order booze.

The only time I've been carded at the tables their was after I turned 21. Someone at the table asked what the consequences would be if I was underage. The floor guy started going on this BS story that underage gambling could be prosecuted as a felony. What BS, if anyone would get prosecuted it would be the casino. Anyway, I'm guessing this is because the floor guy had recognized me from before and I had only been 21 for about a week.

I don't know where I'm going with this post now, but from my short sample, it is probable to get in without getting carded, but it's not guaranteed.

You only have to be 18 because its located on an Indian reservation. Has nothing to do with the univerisities around it.

And its a pretty decent card room.

i guess there will never be closure on this issue.. you hear people saying "i have been there 25 times and got carded once" and then you hear people saying "i get carded EVERYTIME and i am 100 years old" or whatever.. it all boils down to the fact that humans are making these decisions whether to card or not to card and all people look different.

Don't even try it man.. If you get caught, they can confiscate your winnings I hear. That's a lose lose situation. You'll be 21 in no time, just be patient.

I wouldn't chance it either. When I got booted from Foxwoods back in the day (I was a month from 21), they took my ID and, more importantly, all the chips I had in front of me. Not worth the risk IMO.

I'll give you a little hint in this area. When deciding whether to ask a young looking male for ID, one of the first things they're likely to do it try to get a look at the back pants pocket. No wallet = No ID = Not 21.
