I played there for the first time tonight 1-2 and 2-4 limit at the electrice tables. Is the 1-2 NL youre talking about at those or in the actual poker room?

They have electronic (PokerPro) tables for playing 1/2 limit and 2/4 limit.

They spread a 1/2 NL game at the PokerPro tables when things get really busy in the poker room.

Ive seen people playing that electric poker and my friends wanted to sit but i was just felt like i came to the casino to touch the chips and cards not to press buttons like online play.

Re: Winstar, OK

You can get tells from how people do things at that table. I don't have much good to say about Winstar because I always lose when I head to Oklahoma...

Re: Winstar, OK

Is anybody else interested in playing Omaha 8 at Winstar? According to oklahomapoker.net, they'll spread Omaha if there's demand now. And I know most of the dealers have been trained on it from a source... supposedly they intend to spread it regularly after the "expansion" that never seems to happen.

Interesting. When did they add that? The lowest limit they spread when I was there over the summer was 4/8. Has this hurt the 4/8 games any? I'm kinda like the others though. If I'm just going to play electronically, why not sit at home and play online? BTW, can you multitable with the Winstar electronic poker? Is it like a regular table where you sit with the other players, but you're pushing buttons? Or is it more like a typical gaming machine (like the slots or VP or whatever? Are you just playing against other players at Winstar or is it online or networked with other B&M casinos or something?

Re: Winstar, OK

I personally have no desire to play Omaha, but I have also heard that they plan on spreading it when the new poker room opens (again, if it ever does). Good luck getting them to break a Hold 'em game for an Omaha one once the room is full. You'd pretty much have to get there before 10 with enough people to start a game for it to have any chance.

Re: Winstar, OK

It is exactly like playing a regular live game except you don't have any chips or cards. There is a large community screen in the middle of the table which shows people chip counts, community cards and bets. Additionally, each player has their own screen on which to see their own cards.

I've played it once, but didn't really like it. If I'm going to make the drive up there I want to play with real cards and chips. Interesting idea though.

Where is the "new" poker room going to be?

They're building a new place for the Bingo players and they anticipate moving the poker room into the old Bingo facily.

My friends drove from Arlington the past 2 weekends and say it was really packed. Is the one in Norman, another 2.5 hours away that much better than Winstar? Who loves thats $5 rake?

12-14-2005 12:34 PM

Re: Winstar, OK

Thunderbird in Norman I actually kind of liked. They spread 3/6 limit there, and the room has a decent size and isn't nearly as crowded as Winstar. Of course, there's less players as well. We didn't have to wait nearly as long, but the wait time at Winstar we spent driving to Norman. My roommate hated the place, he still won't express a why in a way I can understand.

I'd rather play 3/6 B&M since I always lose in Oklahoma.

I've played 10/20 there, but I didn't know they had 20/40. One weekend I was there and they had a 15/30 game, but a h*ll of a long waiting list.

I play 5/10 limit and go there 3-4 times/week. I am easy to spot because I can't walk (due to surgery on my left foot) and I roll around on a "Roll-a-bout" mobility device.

18+, but they a supposed to be serving booze when the new room opens. At that time it will be 21+.

Re: Winstar, OK

Well that sucks for me. Whats the chances of them started to card more do you think when the new room opens. Im very doubtful that i will be visiting the winstar when they open the new room

Re: Winstar, OK

Wow so definitely F**K that if they up the age to serve alcohol.. The play is unbelievably soft at this place most of the time.. looks like I'll just have to get a fake I.D. to keep going

You should try out Commanche Red River Casino. Its right on the OK/TX border, north of Wichita Falls. They have a nice size card room with plenty of action.
