SB at a 20/40 game

20/40 at Ocean's 11 here, second hand at table. Just came over from an 8/16 game while waiting for a seat, my image from my appearance is probably LAGgy.

I'm in SB with a black JJ, 7 limpers, I complete, BB checks. 9 to the flop

J94 2 hearts.

I bet, BB calls, mp1 raises, all fold to me, I 3-bet, BB folds, mp1 calls.

Turn: heart

I bet, mp1 calls.

River: king of hearts

I check, mp1 bets, I ???

I think we need to call here, this board at this point is bluff heavy as well, and not enough players check raise the nut flush to put his bluff bet in big jeoperdy...

I'm no expert, but I would think that any pocket pair is worth a raise here, especially JJ.

Questioning the river call is goofy, of course you call. In fact, depending on the player you should probably bet/call, especially if he's loose enough to call with any hands that you beat.

I think bet/calling the river is bad.

This table sounds like a dream. I think this is an automatic raise pf. You have great equity in a pot that huge. I check call the river because putting in two bets on the river makes me want to puke. Don't even consider folding, the pot is much to large.

Do we really expect villain to raise the river without a flush?

I really don't get it. Bet/calling is a good idea since we have a LAggy image and villain will take our river bet as a weak bluff?

Another of HPFAP's suggestions that always gets walloped. In that situation, raise AA for strength & 99 for set value. Almost always raise KK. Check QQ-JJ.

If you're raising 99 for set value, why not QQ-TT? Doesn't make sense.

You don't tuck in your shirttail, your hat is a bit off center; at least 2 rings & 1 chain; you come to the table with a drink, or ask the floor for a waitress before you ever sit down and you ask your opponents who the current Table Captain is......

What page(s) are you precisely referencing where David says that you shouldn't raise pre-flop from the small blind in a multiway limped pot with a Group 1 hand, when he does advocate specifically raising in this spot with very strong hands or hands that play well multi-way (p.46).

This is a raise pre-flop: punish the limpers.
