Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

Anyone know when the satellites to the event in January start?

It would be helpful if someone remembers when they started last year. Thanks!

I don't know when they started last year...but it would surprise me A LOT if they didn't start them up pretty soon.

The WCOOP is over now of course so I would imagine the Carib-cruise sat's will get going within the next coupld of weeks.

The cruise is Jan 4-11.
So I'm guessing that the qualifying for it will be over by Dec 20 or so.

Certainly they won't want any LESS than 2 months of qualifying (they've got to fill up the boat as best they can afterall) so I would think that they would start by Oct 20 at the VERY latest.

Might still be an issue of finalizing the cost too (if they aren't positive about whether they will be going to Atlantis again or not as I thought I had read in a different thread somewhere around here).

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your email. I am afraid that we do not know for certain as of yet (just getting over the WCOOP!). Last year they began on the 8th of October so it is safe to assume it will be similar this year.

Is this 18+ or 21+.

MicroBob 09-21-2005 05:48 AM

Re: Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

Some of the EPT events (or maybe all of them) are 18+.

not sure on the Stars Carib-Adventure though.

Stars support typically e-mails a response within 5-10 minutes so that would probably be your option.

Of course...when the satellites for this start up they will likely have a list of FAQ's on their web-page that will address this issue.

It wasn't on a boat last year.

Re: Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

All EPT events are 18+, as is PokerStars.

The PCA will be 21+. This is because it's a WPT stop, and the WPT rules are for players aged 21 and over.

Re: Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

Not all WPT events are 21+
Paris and Carib Adventure have been 18+
It just depends on the local jurisdiction where it's held.

Can't wait for the sats to start.

It's not on a boat. It's at the Atlantis resort in Nassau.

As much as I hate to correct a fellow support member, Sciolist, if the same rules apply as last year then you are wrong!

The legal age to gamble in the Bahamas is 18, and thus we allowed players 18 and over to play:

Q. How old do I have to be to participate?

A. You must be 18 years of age or of legal age of majority in your jurisdiction (whichever is greater) to play either in satellites or in any of the Events. Please note that if you win the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event, but do not meet the age requirement for the WPT Championship (age 21 at the time of the championship), you will forfeit without compensation the entry into the WPT Championship. For complete age information please visit our Terms and Conditions.

Hope that clears it all up for you all

I thought for some reason that it was a cruise TO the Bahamas...and then play continued there or something like that.

Evidently I was wrong. Thanks for the correction.

I remember ZeeJustin played in the event last year and made it far into the money, its definitely 18 to play if they didnt change the rules.

That's what they did the first year. Last year it was at Atlantis in the Bahamas, no cruise.

I think they changed the rules (there was a debate before the Paris tournament), but I'm not totally sure.

First batch of cash satellites is POSTED on the WPT tab of the client. Who will be first in to the $650 event, registering NOW?

Of course I have to go out of town for the next 4 days, but i'll get started on Tuesday when I get back.

I usually like the double shootout route. I'll be in one of those Tuesday night.

That'd be awesome if both of us qualified, cause then we could hang out in real life.

Does anyone know how the bahamas compare to aruba? better/worse? Is it a poorer country or well off like aruba? any crime/corruption?

MicroBob 09-30-2005 06:09 PM

Re: Pokerstars Carribean Adventure

I don't know about the Bahamas in general...but the Atlantis resort specifically seems to me would be quite safe for the most part. Just my hunch.

As with anywhere else....I suspect that you don't want to find yourself on the wrong side of town (or the 'island' as the case may be) after dark.

Plenty of 2+2'ers went to this last year so I'm sure someone can chime-in here and give you the scoop.
Might need to ask in the WPT (or even the MTT) forum though.

I am in the 'if i don't win this I will cry' camp.
PPM cruise to Mexico is probably just a little higher up on my preference list...but just barely.
