Ace on the river

40 80 online poker.

Hero raises with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in EP. Unknown coldcalls
in the cutoff. All others fold. Most unknowns in this game are fish. The fact that he cold called makes it even more likely that he is a fish.

Flop K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Bet raise, call.

Turn 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check, bet, raise, call.

River A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Now what?

By the way, if I lead, I am definitely calling a raise.

Re: Ace on the river

cold called and raised turn. If you think he's a fish then your prob behind. Or are you assuming your ahead??? I don't think he'll fold so if u bet it has to be for value and since i don't think your ahead i'd prob check call since its HU. I think he bets this river with hands your ahead of such as bluffs and weaker kings that he might fold (the bluffs) and raise (the weaker kings + hands that beat you).

I'm the one who raised the turn. I am assuming I was ahead on the turn. On the river I have no idea.

I delay about 7 seconds and bet/call. Btw you're gonna get sued by greenstein for that title.

What are you trying to accomplish with the delay?

if youre not going to fold to a raise, invite him to raise here more often with air.

Bet.

If you check he will most often bet when you are behind and normally check hands you beat. I do not think you normally can induce a bluff.

betting is by far the best play.

Re: Ace on the river

He is not betting any of the hands you want him to have if you check. Bet/call is better than checking, by a lot. Bet/fold, eh, I'd have to be there to do that. Even if he hit 2 pair he has to be worried about AK, so I don't know what he'd raise with. Guess that makes calling more right.

id prefer to bet fast so that way he doesnt raise you with a wide range of 2 pair holdings.

i agree that this river needs to be bet.

I'm surprised at the responses this is getting. bet/call seems like the worst option to me. is he really popping you with KJ or worse? if you think you have to value bet here go ahead, but I fold to the raise.

Re: Ace on the river

if he raises we're gettign almost 10:1. I agree he almost never raises with KJ, but what percentage of the time do you think he's popping you with air? For many players at this level I don't think the number is frequently going to substantiallyl lower than 10.

edit: also, what exactly is a raise representing here?
