Did you notice that you have a full house? I'd bet half pot there. Unless you have reasoning for not doing so, which I don't see at the moment.

Right, and I doubt many opponent's would expect their busted flush draw or busted flush draw + crappy pair to be the best hand at river, even with my check. I put Villain on busted flush draw and did not figure to receive a call on my push with a lonely A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

It seems like villain would check behind with too many hands. I don't want to check, and have villain check behind. I'd rather value bet, and if he folds then so be it.

...and that's why they won't bet it on the river. However they might look you up for half-pot on the river if you bet yourself.

Re: K5s in BB.

Yes, and they'd have more reason to bluff with their busted flush draw than call a bet with it. I guess it just comes down to your read on the opponent's hand.

FYP

Only certain types of players bluff on the end there. The majority don't.

Re: K5s in BB.

I still can't believe that you think you get more value from trying to value bet ace high.

Re: K5s in BB.

Do you really think Villain will bluff when he's been bet into on 2 streets? Its more likely that villain will semi-bluff with a weak K or something. Even THEN, villain might not bet a weak K. So you could be losing value there.

Re: K5s in BB.

i like AJs line of 1/2 potting the river. if u have a read that he bluffs missed draws then c/c or c/r by all means. i dont see many players doing this so i bet something. i think there is a possiblitly he has Kx with a [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] that may pay off a bet on the river. i just dont see the benefit of checking if villain wont bluff atleast 1/4 of the time.

I said I put him on A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], dude. I meant that it comes down to what your read on him is if you were me, lol. And my read was A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], yours was much wider.

Do you really think Villain lets me value bet him with his busted flush draw? I see him grasping at straws to win a decent sized pot. A bluff here is the only way he can. I have shown weakness and given up on the hand.

If he's aggressive, I love a river CR.

Re: K5s in BB.

You are letting a flopped flush off too easy with the river check. You almost certainly have the best hand . . . make him pay for the showdown.

Kirkrrr 11-14-2005 03:51 AM

Re: K5s in BB.

I routinely check the river if I put my opponent on a missed draw. wtf does it matter that you got quads full of hearts if he has nothing?

I read the results, very amusing as turned out, but I like the play.

1) How is a flopped flush likely here?
2) A flopped flush bets river anyway.

lol, nice results.

I think he played that badly lol, kind of an overbet considering you checked.
