GOOD interview questions?

Gotta do an interview with a guy in 40 minutes. (As an aside, he's ~12 years older than me, and a helluva lot more experienced than I am. What a jerk.)

Give me some good interview questions. Other than what his BB/100 is and whether he ever was all-state. (Position is for statistician.)

Quick! Here's a red brick. Tell me five things you can do with it. Go!

What's with the brick obsession? Is that a brick in your pants, or are you just happy to see me?

I like to ask people about their favorite books, movies, TV shows, etc.

The most common answer from guys is "Star Wars" for favorite movie all-time, from women it's "Pretty Woman". I think the worst answer I ever got for favorite movie of all time was "Moulin Rouge".

If he's wearing any rubber bracelets or has a magnetic ribbon on his car, just don't hire him.

If you somehow think Pretty Woman is a better movie than Moulin Rouge, you are way too retarded to interview anyone about anything.

Do you like gladiator movies?
Have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Do you speak Jive?

dig up that "how many triangles" question that was on here a couple days ago. ask him to work it out on a white board...

that might be good.

Very helpful, guys . I'll also ask him if he's got 6 fingers on his right hand and "Retardsayswhat?".

Re: GOOD interview questions?

Maybe something that starts with "How many 5 year olds.....?"

VBM 07-27-2005 03:15 PM

Re: GOOD interview questions?

if he has 6 fingers on his right hand, you should open with, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya..."

Finally, a reasonable suggestion . . . I'll even ask it like that, let him finish the question however he'd like.

"How many 5-year olds . . . ?" Yeah, that'll go over well!

Is this by chance a phone interview? If so, be sure to get drunk first.

I understand the second part. The phone interview stipulation confuses me.

I'm sorry. I know it was terrible. I started out with just getting drunk first, but I was going for a "get drunk and then call her" kind of thing, but then I just left it hanging. I feel shame.
