I need a break from Poker, Where do I go on vacation

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I've had a hell of a month playing endless poker. Now when I am playing I'm not playing with 100% of my ability doing thing like re-raise bluff and going a little nutz from all the poker i've been playing. So I'm thinking of just going somewhere for like 3-5 days, "Just to get away" Where should I go? I'd like to stay w/ in N. American (canada, mexico, us) anyone have any good ideas on where to go to kick back, relax and get poker off your mind

This time of year Cabo is uber....not too many tourists. Rent a beach front unit at the Hacienda Hotel...~$250 / nite this time of year. The drive down is awesome after you get past Laretto.

How about Detroit? Check out the Pistons while there.

Aruba/Bonaire are nice. You can also play poker against blind people that ask you what cards they hold. Monkeys are also allowed in the poker rooms.

How far are you prepared to travel?

Belfast will be one big party for the next fortnight or so, celebrating the life of the greatest footballer ever to have lived: George Best, 1946-2005.

(See BBC coverage. )

Is there poker in Bonaire now? I haven't been there since 2+2, but talk about one of the most peaceful, relaxing places on earth with awesome diving/snorkeling (and hot topless dutch chicks as well!) if so, this is a must!

Sorry. I've seen monkey-poker only in Aruba. If one comes as far down as Aruba, it'd be a waste not to visit Bonaire.

For 3-5 days, head to rocky point (puerto penasco). Calm, peaceful, fun on the Sea of Cortez and only about a 4 hour drive.

Get a hobo sack and ride the rails.

Every day is a vacation when...

...when you live in Florida. And when I ask others where they go for a vacation the #1 response is the Keys.

I'm overdue for some mountains and some live NL. Vegas soon.

Given your used to warm temperatures living in Arizona. I don't think anywhere in Canada should be an option. Hell has officially frozen over here.

You can head to Mexico - easy from here in Phoenix. Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) is about 5 hours away - pretty area, decent beaches - no crowds, so surfing. If you like shirmp dishes, you'll love it. If you want lobster, forget it - there isn't any. If you want bikini's in the surf - not likely here either. In fact, why the hell do I go there?

On the other hand, you can get to San Diego in five hours too -

Or you can make Laughlin in less than four hours, stay at the Edgewater or Flamingo for $9.99 a night (well, may $19 if you don't get lucky) and play $3/$6 or $4/$8 with a bunch of really bad players and drink Corona's for free.......(actually, they sometimes get a good $10/$20 game going).

The Edgewater often sends me a 3-day, 2-night special that is $0. In fact, it comes with $25 in free slot play and two buffets. Just get a club one card down there. Check online with either of these two hotels and you'll probably see a good deal, after you sign up, you get a lot of freebies.

As for bad poker games - yeah, there are a lot of older players, but the games can be decent. Friday night and Saturday afternoon were the best that I remember. It's not a great place to play, just a really really cheap place. And, if you get bored, head towards Searchlight and then to Vegas - it's 100 miles.

Spent 4th of July weekend playing at Harrah's in Laughlin. I think I saw 6 hands all weekend were fewer than 6 people went to the flop.
