Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

Just curious. My record is $4400. I didn't really feel that uncomfortable about it either. Some of my friends said they would be a nervous wreck carrying that much cash, just wondering what other people thought.

Re: Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

I used to get nervous carrying over $200 around and then I realized I've never been robbed or felt like I was going to be.

Re: Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

I was in the market for a classic car and drove out of town to have it inspected and possibly buy it. It was a convertible 1970 Chevelle and the guy wanted 10K for it. Since I didn't know if I'd be able to talk him down I had the full amount on me. Of course the shop doing the inspection took me aside and told me the car wasn't worth more than 3K due to various issues, so that deal never went through. It made me realize how bulky cash is, though.

10K+ Blackjack baby!

Edit: I should say, that I spent like 2 weeks, taking cash out of my atm(s) so I could go down to AC with 3k in cash.

Re: Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

for work - I do market research, and we had people test drive prototypes. We offer compensation in cash... couple hundred bucks to let us badger you with questions for a couple hours. Normally we have the security guy hold all the cash, but one particular night - I held it. Was a little unnerving, 1) it wasn't my money and I sure as hell could have used it. 2) it was a lot of money - and certain people knew I had it on me - who could be stupid and tell someone else.. etc.

wasn't my favorite thing to do.

$1200 after a lucky two hours at 5/10. deposited it immediately.

I'm 21 and in college (I feel that this is significant).

Re: Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

Whenever I buy a car I usually end up paying in cash. I've never bought a brand new car so it's always some dealer or private sale where they prefer cash (or sometimes a bankers draft).

I had £8000 on me once which I suppose was worth $14000 or so at the time. I always hate carrying lots of cash around though, the worst is the walk from the bank to my existing car. Anything over a grand or so is enough to make me super paranoid.

Re: Largest amount of cash you\'ve ever had on your person?

My favorite was leaving the Walker Hill Casino in South Korea with 3.6 million won in cash one night (about $4000 at the time). They don't have bills bigger than 10,000 won, so I had 360 bills on me. I've had more total value on me, but that was the most actual physical money.

My last job I frequently would take $1-5k to our main office to cash a check for our CEO, so I used to feel like carrying a few hundred around was a lot, I don't really anymore.

I've carried $50-100k to the bank when we miss an armored pickup, and one time $300,000 to another location, but that time I was escorted by an armed guard.

I'm an NYC native and I always say "on line", I didn't realize that other people didn't. I also spent a bunch of time in the south and have started to say "y'all" sometimes.

I don't get what is so bad about saying "on line", there imagine a one dimensional line of people, you are somewhere on it.
