you can't become RPS champion on a whim, a dream, and $40 for a super satellite. come on this isnt the WSOP.

Re: My bid to be World Champion...

$20 to enter, $250 or so for airfare, few days hotel split amongst the rest of Team DC ($70ish), a lot of drinking (say $200 in bar tabs?)... That works out to about $540 or so, no super-satellite needed, for a shot at the first prize of $10,000(Canadian).

So if I win, I break even. Sweet.

(Sorry, someone was gonna make the joke, I thought it may as well be me)

is coaching allowed? if so, your best bet is to get as stinking drunk as necessary in order to become unreadable. then, you have a coach who is a good reader giving you signals after discerning which way the other guy is going.

I do this in poker all the time. In all likelihood it's the same tactic I will try in Toronto. It never works well though.

Was that a Drew Carey bit too?

I know that was on Seinfeld - Kramer and Micky (I think that was his name) did it.

Team DC Gambits sent one into to the final 8. Good prep for our trip to Toronto in October... Genius.

You might be right. Thankfully, there's a lot of time between now and Oct. 16 to train and study.

My bid to be World Champion... Falls short.

Alas, three days in Toronto did not yield a world championship for Team DC Gambits. However, it did yield stunning moments like this one...

Scissors beats paper, right?

In my home game in college when we split the pot we'd always RSP for the last .05, our Vietnamese friend stated that "white man always go rock."

Being good white people, agreed, and would ALWAYS go rock.

Oddly, he went scissors with an alarming frequency.

Speaking of exchange rates, here's a good joke.

This Japanese tourist goes to the currency exchnage booth on his first day in our country. He gets his dollars. Next day he exchanges more yen, but this time he complains thta he received more dollars yesterday and wants to know why.

The cashier says Fluctuations...

The Japanes tourist yells, "Well fluk you Amelicans too!"
