Sugar substitutes
Do any of you guys use sugar subsitutes? I usually use Sweet 'n Low in my coffee because I feel like it dillutes better. I used to be a big straight sugar guy, but then I found that it was left in the bottom of the cup too often.
So what do you use? |
Re: Sugar substitutes
I use regular sugar. I once accidentally got ice cream bars that used a sugar substitute (I forgot which one...) and they tasted like nothing.

Costs more than the others, but it's worth it. Wal Mart sells it at about half the price supermarkets charge. No funny after taste, no carcinogenics. Enjoy. |

Re: Sugar substitutes
I use splenda as well for the same reason the OP mentioned. Also it seems to take less for more of an effect, and they have it at Panera which is where I consume most of my coffee.

Re: Sugar substitutes
I'm on the Splenda bandwagon.

Re: Sugar substitutes
If ice cream sandwiches don't taste like anything, it's not going to be from a sugar substitute, but more likely, from poor quality ice cream that's probably made from skim milk or some other crap.

Re: Sugar substitutes
wrong. The only different ingredient between the two ice cream sanwiches was the Splenda. It was the same sandwiches, just different sweetener.

I'm not buying the whole "made from real sugar (so it's harmless)" line. My poop is made from real food, and I'm not eating that. http://www.holisticmed.com/splenda/ I'm not necessarily believing this stuff, either. Until there's more information, I'll just stick with the real thing. |

The 26th word on the page you linked to is Mercola. This is the signal to stop reading. Truth in advertising should require him to change his name to Quacky McQuackster.

Re: Sugar substitutes
Is there really a benefit to sugar substitutes? I thought it was only for diabetics and really fat people.
