Eddie Izzard

If any of you ever get a chance to watch Eddie Izzard's stand up comedy Dress To Kill do not pass it up. One of the funniest I've ever seen. Got a couple of Emmy's too I believe.

Has anyone seen it and not liked it?

His other stuff isn't as funny though. Too British. Dress To Kill seems to have been made specifically for Americans.

Mitch Hedberg, Brian Regen, Dane Cook... all better.

Flight of the Concords on the HBO One Night Stand Up, were very good too.

I really don't like Mitch Hedberg too much. Some of his material makes me chuckle... but as a whole I wouldn't say better than Izzard.

Dane Cook is funny. But his last stuff hasn't been that good. Not as good as his first CD.

Re: Eddie Izzard

Yea his first CD was better... but Hedberg is awesome, i love his sense/style of humor

I guess I haven't seen enough of Hedberg's material to make a judgement. Plus comedy is just like art, everyone has their tastes.

Check out Demitri Martin, similar style, very funny.

I'll agree, Izzard is rather good in his own respect.

EI once did gigs (maybe even a tour?) in France - to the French I'll add - with only some very basic French, and they still laughed, even though he was asking the audience for the French for really fundamental words like 'spoon' to continue his routine.

THAT is a funny man.

plus he must have balls of iron to get up in front of an audience speaking a language he's not too good at, and attempt to do a gig.

Were they maybe laughing at his strange accent?

Re: Eddie Izzard

True, but the fact is they were laughing.

This is a nation whose natural demeanour is 'offended'

I can see how Eddie Izzard is one of the few people who could pull this off (random rambling in broken french) and still be funny....

Oh, I guess I'm in the minority then.

Cake please.

Absolutely hilarious. Though, if you aren't at least somewhat well versed in history, political science etc. there's a lot of his stuff that will go over your head.

I'm watching it right now... 46 minutes in and I'm not enjoying this as much as I enjoyed Pablo Francisco, Eddie Murphy, Russell Peters, etc..
