96s BB river raise?

7 handed 75/150

hows my flop/turn play?

i have 9d6d in the BB. UTG+2 raises. Seif calls in the SB. I call in the BB.

PS he'll pay off with a pair if he has one. hes also extremely loose in the blinds so he can have almost any 2.

flop 9s4c2s

Seif checks, I check, UTG+1 bets, Seif raises, I 3bet, UTG+1 folds, Seif calls

Turn Jx

Seif checks, I bet, seif raises, I call

River 9h

Seif bets, I ?

Raise. Against Seif in this game do you really need to ask?

if you're not willing to raise this river then why bother calling the turn?

So far, I would have chosen a different line on every street.

I'm definitely raising the river and hopefully getting paid off by a pocket pair.

3-bet for value since he's probably bluffing and he'll call with his KsXs

Preflop: Fold. Yeah, you're getting 5-1, but you probably won't win by pairing.

Flop: Bet out. I don't get the double check-raise. Can you really be confident 3-betting with a pair of nines, no kicker? You have no redraws, either.

Turn: What's with this guy and the check-raises. I think you have to call here, because the pot odds are now somewhere around 8.5 to 1, but I would probably be wishing I hadn't made it this far.

River: Okay, you got lucky and made trips. You could be behind to a boat or maybe K9 or something weird like that, though. So raise the river and call a re-raise.

Re: 96s BB river raise?

results: baronzeus raises, seif 3-bets baronzeus cries and calls and seif takes down the pot.

in other words, you knew what the correct play was, and you got unlucky. don't second guess yourself.

terrible. let me change my advice. if you're going to second guess yourself, do it after the hand, not during it

Seems to me when he wants to he has always been able to play pretty well, esp. HU and short. Its not hard to identify which Mark has shown up in any given session after a few hands. I think that when you describe any hand against Seif it should include a description of his current style.

Yup. He was playing like an alcoholic monkey this time. Sometimes, especially when I play him HU or 3 handed he plays much better, other times he plays like he sat a chimp down in his seat and taught it to click either check, call, or raise, and in no particular order. You just have to identify which Mark you are playing. Thats all I was saying and it was in response to BZ saying that mark has been playing better recently.
